Sandwich panels with a facing of laminated fibre reinforced plastics are now established boatbuilding materials. In the last few years they have begun to replace the traditional metal and wood in ship and marine construction. Today's materials are usually selected on the basis of minimum cost and simplicity of construction. This is often contrary to the demands of the owner who wants an inexpensive, safe, easy-care and long-lasting ship. The requirements of boatbuilder and operator can easily be satisfied if the combination of the best choice of materials and new, rationalized construction methods are considered. Taking the construction of the boat "Sandwich" as an example we will demonstrate the increased importance of the tough rigid linear PVC foam core materials and how this property is used to advantage in an integrated overhead construction.
Les panneaux sandwich avec des peaux de stratifiés en plastique renforcé par fibres sont des matériaux maintenant reconnus dans le domaine de la construction navale. Ces dernières années, ils ont construction marine. Les matériaux d'aujourd'hui sont habituellement sélectionnés sur la base d'un coût minimum et de la simplicité de construction. Ceci est souvent contraire aux demandes du propriétaire qui veut un bateau bon marché, sûr, facile à entretenir et qui dure longtemps. Les exigences du constructeur de bateau et de l'utilisateur peuvent facilement être satisfaites si une combinaison du meilleur choix de matériaux, des méthodes de construction nouvelles et rationnelles sont pris en considération. A partir de l'exemple de la construction du bateau "Sandwich" nous montrons l'importance croissante des matériaux d'âme en PVC linéaire ductile et rigide et comment cette propriété est utilisée à son avantage dans une construction inversée intégrale.
