Resumo:  internal architecture of an incised valley-fill on a wave- and tide-dominated coast (the Leyre incised valley, Bay of Biscay, France). The Leyre incised valley shows a specific strata architecture related to its wave- and tide-dominated depositional environment. The low-stand systems tract has been totally eroded by the tidal ravinement surface and the valley is entirely filled by the transgressive systems tract. The Leyre and the Gironde incised valleys have been formed within the same depositional environment and the same stratigraphic framework. Consequently, the description of the internal architecture of the Leyre incised valley enables to complete the stratigraphic model of the wave- and tide-dominated incised valleys set up by Allen et Posamentier and Lericolais et al.

Formée dans un environnement hydrodynamique dominé par l'énergie de la houle et des courants de marée, la paléovallée incisée de la Leyre présente une architecture interne originale, où le cortège de bas niveau marin est absent, érodé par la surface de ravinement tidal, et où le cortège transgressif remplit entièrement la vallée. L'étude de la paléovallée de la Leyre permet de compléter le modèle stratigraphique de la vallée de la Gironde, qui s'est formée dans le même cadre chronostratigraphique et le même environnement de dépôt.Pour citer cet article : H.
