A serological survey of Borrelia infection of dogs was performed in Sapporo, Japan, where Borrelia garinii infection in dogs was detected in 2011. A total of 314 serum samples were collected from dogs that visited three animal hospitals in Sapporo from 2012 to 2014. The two-step evaluation method, involving screening ELISA followed by Western blot analysis, was used to detect antibodies against Borrelia species. A total of 34 samples were positive by ELISA. Among those 34 samples, 32 were positive for Borrelia spp. by Western blot. These findings suggest that the 32 dogs (10.2%) generated antibodies against Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato, such as B. garinii or B. afzelii. Monoclonal antibodies to the prion protein (PrP) have been of critical importance in the neuropathological characterization of PrP-related disease in men and animals. To determine the influence of species-specific amino-acid substitutions recognized by monoclonal antibodies, and to investigate the immunohistochemical reactivity of the latter, analyses were carried out on brain sections of cattle with bovine spongiform encephalopathy, sheep with scrapie, mice infected with scrapie, and human beings with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) or Gerstmann-Sträussler-Sheinker disease (GSS). 家畜廃棄物の有効利用の一環として、乳牛ふんからエネルギーを回収するために、嫌気性消化の基礎実験を行なうと同時に希釈ふんの粘牲をも調べた。その結果、連続消化( 3.06kg-vs/m3/日)の場合、定常状態とみなした期間の平均のガス生成速度は 132.5l/有機物kg/日であるが、稲わらを試料の固形物当り10%以上加えた回分式消化の発生ガス量は、無添加のそれより著しく減少することを明らかにした。また、希釈試料の含水比が約3,000%(d.b)以上ではニュートン流体とみなせること、さらに嫌気性消化の最適条件すなわち、30~55%および pH7~8の試料希釈液は低粘度を示すことなどが確かめられた。 |
