| Les études écologiques sur le site d'une future centrale nucléaire se divisent en plusieurs parties : - étude d'avant-projet : étude rapide permettant d'évaluer les caractéristiques écologiques générales et la richesse du site. Sur le site de Gravelines, cette étude a été effectuée de Juillet à Décembre 1973, - étude de projet : destinée à établir un bilan écologique avant la mise en service des installations cette étude porte sur deux cycles annuels, - étude de Surveillance : s'étendant sur plusieurs années; cette étude permet, d'une part, d'apprécier les variations pluriannuelles des écosystèmes d'autre part, de rechercher les effets des rejets d'eau réchauffée sur ces écosystèmes. |

| From two series of specimens of the genus Heterospio (Polychaetous Annelids, sedentaria) collected in the western Mediterranean, the authors describe two new species : the first one (H. mediterranena sp. n.) lives in bathyal muds, the second one ( H . reducta sp. n.) inhabits the abyssal plain. The two new species are compared with the two (or three) other species previously known. These samples corroborate the recent discovery of a single specimen of this rare genus in the Mediterranean. On admet généralement qu'en raison de la structure homothermique des eaux profondes méditerranéennes, la plaine abyssale est peuplée par des espèces bathyales eurybathiques sténothermes chaudes, Mais, comme le souligne PÉRÈS [1967, p. 467] l'extrême pauvreté des grandes profondeurs méditerranéennes et le nombre très limité de prélèvements faits à ce jour ne permettent guère de donner une réponse satisfaisante à cette question. | A new form of Annelida Polychaeta sedentaria has been collected in the eastern Mediterranean, at depths greater than 3 000 m, on the eastern limb of the Matapan trench. Its study leads to the proposition of the creation of a new genus of Ampharetidae. Some characters specific to this genus drove us to consider the definition of a new family. Given the current state of our knowledge, it seems sensible to consider Uschakovius gen. n. as an aberrant genus of Ampharetidae. |

| La présente étude écologique du site de GRAVELINES liée au projet d'implantation d'une centrale nucléaire a été confiée par Électricité de France, Région Équipement Paris au Centre National pour l'Exploitation des Océans (CNEXO). L'installation des centrales nucléaires sur le littoral, est susceptible d'entraîner des modifications au niveau des différents écosystèmes atteints par les rejets du circuit de refroidissement. Dans le but d'évaluer de telles modifications, des études écologiques ont été entreprises sur les sites des futures centrales. |

| Malacoceros samurai, new species, (Spionidae) is described from deep-sea hydrothermal vents of the southern East Pacific Rise, at 17 degrees 25'S. It is a large species, living on chimney walls along with Avinella spp. Although this species is described in the genus Malacoceros, it possesses unidentate hooded hooks and anterior scalpel-like aristate neurosetae, both characters which clearly differentiate it from other species of the same genus. These unusual characters require the modification of the generic diagnosis of Malacoceros. |

| Four species of the genus Fauveliopsis are described or revised: F. brevis (HARTMAN, 1965) F. adriatica sp.n., F. fauchaldi sp.n., and one form that is closely related to F. adriatica. HARTMAN (1971) stated the genus only for the deep sea, but this study makes sure that Fauveliopsis species are also inhabiting shallow regions of the sea: F. adriatica was found in a depth of 60 m. | A new species of parasitic Copepod from Mollusca representing the type of a new genus has been discovered in the Gulf of Biscay : Myzotheridion seguenziae gen. sp. n. This Copepod inhabits the mantle cavity of a bathyal Gastropod very common in the North of the Gulf of Biscay, between 1900 and 2250 m depth, Seguenzia carinata. The rate of parasitism, from more than 500 Gastropods, reaches as an average 7,l %. A few special morphological features have been recognised : presence of a plurilobate sucker for the female, reduction of thoracic and abdominal segments for the male. | Authors used photogrammetric and videogrammetric data collected at 13 degree N/EPR by the French manned submersible Cyana during the Biocyatherm and Biocyarise cruises to estimate the biomass of vent fauna. Two distinct faunal assemblages are associated with low- and high-temperature vents, Vestimentifera. The former, characterized by giant tube worms and bivalves, the latter by the so-called "Pompeii worms" (Alvinellidae). The cold vent biomass may reach 8.5 kg m super(2), far in excess of the hot vent biomass which amounts to 2.4 kg. Such a difference is linked to higher integrated symbiosis between primary and secondary producers in cold vent assemblages, hot vent secondary production being dependent upon separate ingestion/digestion processes. |
