On Farm Research Project conducted pre-commercial corn hybrids trials in farmers' field in 2 regions during May to December 2009. The trials laid out in RCB design, composed of 22 entries, with 3 replications, In the first region, Tak provinces, the result found that, NT 6346 gave the highest yield of 1,031 kg/rai, across 3 locations, but not significant different from Suwan 4452, (check variety, 943 kg/rai). Bio 569 gave the lowest yield of 735 kg/rai, which was not significant different from KSX 5211 and SH 0901, and lower yield than Suwan 4452 of 22, 18 and 15 percent, respectively. On Farm Research Project conducted commercial corn hybrids trials in farmers' field during May to December 2009. The objective of this experiment was to demonstrate and identify the suitable corn hybrids for farmers in theirs area.And also provided on opportunity for farmer to choose the cheaper and profitable hybrid seed. The trials was laid out in RCB design, composed of 10 entries, with 3 replications, in Nakhonratchasima, Lopburi, Chacherngsoa and Tak provinces. The result from combined analysis showed that SW 4452 gave the highest mean of grain yield of 880 kg/rai, but not significant different from NK 48, NK40, P30Y87 and P4296. In three-line hybrid rice system, development of parental lines by backcrossing and early generation testing for combining ability is a method used for developing CMS lines (A line) and restorer lines (R line) simultaneously. In this study F3 progenies from 15 crosses of maintainers (B line) were backcrossed to their respective A lines, and 6 crosses and 46 isogenic lines produced. Completely sterile backcross progenies were found in 3 crosses, i.e., IR79156A//IR79156B/CNT1, IR80156A//IR80156B/IR46R and IR80156A//IR80156B/SPR1.
