The bees described as Panurginus Nylander, 1848, from southern South America and deposited in the Museum Humboldt, Berlin, were studied. Seven species were redescribed and trans-ferred to the genus Panurgillus Schlindwein & Moure, 1998: P. aeneiventris (Friese, 1908),P. brunneicornis (Strand, 1910), P.paraguayanus (Strand, 1910), P. pauloensis (Friese, 1916), P. saltensis (Friese, 1908), P. solani (Ducke, 1912) e P. steinbachi (Friese, 1916). A key for the identification of the 21 known species of the genus is included. Panurginus flaviceps Friese, 1916 and P. saltensis var. nigroclypeata Friese, 1908 described by Friese are synonyms of Anthrenoides meridionalis (Schrottky, 1906). Panurginus laticeps Friese, 1916 belongs to Cephalurgus Moure... |

The present paper reports the presence of glandular structures in legs of some stingless bee species. The glands appear as: the epidermis transformation in a glandular epithelium as in basitarsus, an epithelial sac inside the segment as in the femur of queens or in the last tarsomere, as round glandular cells, scattered or forming groupments. The saculiform gland of femur is present only in queens, the other glands are present in males, queens and workers of the studied species, apparently without any type of polymorphism. This occurrence seems indicate that the function of these glands have not to do with the sociality or specific behavior of castes. |

The ichneumofauna of Capão da Imbuia was studied during three years of capture, using Malaise traps. 114,469 specimens were captured, of which 3,603 belong to 20 subfamilies of ichneumonids. Pimplinae and Poemeniinae in the wood contains 14 genera and 48 species. In the first sample (1978-1979), 23 species were captured; in the second (1985-1986), 21 species were obtained, 13 of which had been previously captured, with an addition of eight species. And in the last sample (1995-1996), 39 species were obtained, of which 17 had not previously been captured. The dominant species, considering the number of individuals, were: Pimpla semirufa Brullé, 1846, Pimpla caerulea Brullé, 1846, Neotheronia aff. hespenheidei, Pimpla golbachi (Porter, 1970), Pimpla... |

In the collection of Museu de Zoologia, Universidade de São Paulo, São Paulo, there are specimens from Schrottky's collection which constitute the sintypes of some of the species of Anthidium that he described in 1910. Studying this genus, it is pertinent to designate the Lectotypes of these species, as follows: Anthidium cuzcoense Schrottky, 1910; Anthidium garleppi Schrottky, 1910; Anthidium nigerrimum Schrottky, 1910; Anthidium patagonicum Schrottky, 1910, and Anthidium peruvianum Schrottky, 1910. The lectotype of Anthidium kuscheli Moure, 1957, deposited in the collection of Departamento de Zoologia, Universidade Federal do Paraná, Curitiba, is also here designated. |

A really beautiful Euglossinae bee, Euglosssa (Euglossella) perpulchra sp. n., is decribed from Pernambuco, Igarassu, Brazil. It can be recognized by the following characters: head and thorax bronzeous green covered with fulvous pubescence, and abdomen bluish with white marginal bands narrowed progressively from second to sixth tergum; wings slightly fulvous, stigma and wing venation light fulvous. It is closely related to E. decorata Smith, 1874 and E. singularis Mocsáry, 1899. |
