| L'exploitation des ressources par la pêche professionnelle et par la conchyliculture repose sur des ressources vivantes sauvages ou domestiquées qui sont présentes dans différents milieux aquatiques depuis les rivières jusqu'au large en mer. L'état de ces populations dépend non seulement des choix d'exploitation au regard des capacités de renouvellement des stocks mais aussi des caractéristiques environnementales qui impactent les différentes phases des cycles biologiques des espèces et jouent donc sur leur bon déroulement. | Under the WFD monitoring the “subtidal macroalgae” parameter is calculated for the second time on the Basque coast water body from the protocol used in Britain and adapted to local environmental context. In 2011, three stations were sampled instead of 5 in 2008. The result is the same to the one obtained in 2008 with a quality index "medium" for the whole of the water body. The main criterion penalizing the calculation of the index is "opportunistic species" for each station. There is variability between sites according to the criteria between the two campaigns reflecting the interest of monitoring every three years on the three sites. |

| The stocks of whiting (Merlangius merlangus), pollack (Pollachius pollachius) and striped red mullet (Mullus surmuletus), are considered by ICES as Data Limited Stocks (DLS) for the Bay of Biscay areas, those bordering the Iberian Peninsula as well as the Celtic Sea for red mullet. In the case of insufficient data for an analytical assessment, ICES has recommended, for 2013 and 2014, to precautionarily reduce landings by 20 % compared to the period 2009-2011 for these 3 stocks. | The ROMELIGO project included a proposal of abundance indicators for mur-west stock using professional fishing data. The methodolgy is based on the selection of samples of representative vessels grouped in clusters with the same technical characteristics, taking into account their LPUE for specifed period and area. The analysis was conducted on an historical dataset from 2005 to 2015. To be able to update it, conditional decision trees were used to find rules to assign any new vessels to one of the predefined OTB or GNS clusters. | This report details the results of clam stock assessment survey, which took place between 14 May and 17 June 2018 in Arcachon Bay. Co-organized with CDPMEM33, with financial support from DLAL FEAMP Arcachon Basin Val de l'Eyre, Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the CDPMEM33 and Ifremer, the clam stock assessment and its characteristics were provided. The samples were collected from 533 sampling stations distributed over an area of 52 km², with an Hamon grab, using a generalized random tessellation stratified spatially balanced design (GRTS). Venerupis philippinarum remains the dominant species with 99 % of the population. The size distribution of Manila clam is in the range 5 – 41 mm with a main mode around 24-28 mm.
