The condition of three intertidal Paracentrotus lividus populations, which inhabit an area between Rabat and Casablanca (Morocco) known by its high wave energy and its substantial anthropogenic disturbances were described. The growth rate of the juvenile sea urchins in this intertidal zone was low compared with more sheltered populations. A sharp increase in the gonad index was observed between January and March at the beginning of a period of algal production, and was concomitant with increases in seawater temperature and food consumption rate. The development of new antifouling coatings with respect to the marine environment is actually crucial. The aim of the present work is to concept an erodible paint formulated with biodegradable polyester as binders and which combines two modes of prevention: chemical and physical repelling of biofouling. This system is principally dedicated to disturb durable settlement of microfouling. Each component was chosen according to its specific properties: chlorhexidine is a bisdiguanide antiseptic with antibacterial activity, zinc peroxide is an inorganic precursor of high instable entities which react with seawater to create hydrogen peroxide, Tween 85 is a non ionic surfactant disturbing interactions between colonizing organisms and surface. La surveillance d'un milieu peut se faire par la mesure des concentrations de "contaminants" dans l'eau, la matière vivante et le sédiment. C'est d'ailleurs ce qui est réalisé par le RNO sur le littoral français depuis 1974. Le dosage de ces contaminants donne une évaluation des niveaux de leurs concentrations dans les zones étudiées. Un effet de l'accumulation des contaminants dans la matière vivante peut aussi être mesuré grâce aux techniques biochimiques du type mesure de l'Acetylcholinestérase, EROD (GALGANI, 1987). The herbicide bentazon (CASRN 25057-89-0) is extensively used in agriculture in Brittany (France) to replace atrazine. Bentazon is not readily adsorbed by soil and therefore it enters adjacent freshwater ecosystems, making its way to estuarine and marine waters areas. Information regarding its effects on marine ecosystems is scarce. Phytotoxicity assessments were conducted in the laboratory on the common diatom Chaetoceros gracilis using both the active ingredient and its formulated product (Basamais). Les mortalités d'huîtres observées sur les côtes françaises apparaissent principalement à proximité du sédiment et pendant la gamétogenèse. Les interactions de facteurs environnementaux sur les écosystèmes conchylicoles comme la température, les apports des bassins versants et le compartiment sédimentaire illustrent un risque de mortalité lié à différentes sources de stress (Thème 1). Les variations de la qualité de la ressource trophique pendant l'effort de gamétogenèse favorise une baisse de l'énergie disponible (Thème 2) et contraint l'organisme fragilisé à fournir un effort d'adaptation (Fent 2004). The phenomenon of summer mortalities of the Pacific cupped oyster Crassostrea gigas is observed in France since the beginning of the 90's. These mortalities are classically associated to younger stages and summer temperatures and occur during the reproduction period of the animal. The studies undertaken during the project Morest (2001-2005), showed that a number of biological and environmental risks, the interaction of them induces lethal stresses for animals in physiological weakness, exists in summer.
