| This study aimed at describing the distribution of vasa vasora in the tunica media of various parts of goat aorta, since this influences the physico-mechanical properties and disease occurrence. Specimens were obtained from ascending, arch, each vertebral level of descending thoracic and various segments of abdominal aorta of sixteen healthy adult male domestic goats (Capra hircus). They were fixed in 10% formaldehyde solution, and routinely processed for paraffin embedding. Seven micron thick sections were stained with Mason's Trichrome stain. | El paladar óseo podría ser una zona favorable como dadora de injertos, siempre que se pueda determinar con seguridad su grosor. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la correlación entre la altura facial superior y el grosor del paladar óseo. En 29 cráneos secos se midió la altura facial superior, ubicando los puntos craneométricos nasion y prostion. Luego se midió el grosor del paladar óseo de todas las muestras a los 6 y 9 mm a dorsal del conducto incisivo, en la zona paramediana (3 y 6 mm. de la línea media en ambas antímeras). More recently, similar techniques such as natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery and other advanced transumbilical surgeries have been developed. With all of these surgical advances, basic information about the umbilicus is lacking. This study evaluated the relationship between umbilical diameter and thickness, as well as the underlying vessels, in order to develop a simple means of assessing umbilical anatomy. | The presence of the Accessory Foramina of the Mandibular Ramus (AFMR) may be related to anaesthetic failures in the inferior alveolar nerve block and complications in the ramus surgeries. The purpose of the present investigation was to determine the occurrence of the AFMR in adults and, when present, measure its distance to the Mandibular Foramen (MF), to the Mandibular Lingula (ML) and to the posterior margin of the mandibular ramus (PM), comparing data obtained in both sides of the mandible. | Pseudolinfoma cutáneo es el término utilizado para indicar un grupo de trastornos linfoproliferativos benignos de la piel, siendo el linfocitoma cutis una forma de seudolinfoma de células B. Clínicamente se manifiesta como nódulos o placas solitarias, generalmente localizados en la cara de mujeres jóvenes. Su etiopatogenia estaría relacionada con una respuesta inmunológica local exagerada ante diversos desencadenantes tales como, picadura de insectos, acupuntura, vacunas, tatuajes, medicamentos e infecciones. Se presentan dos casos de pacientes con diagnóstico de linfocitoma cutis realizado en la Unidad de Anatomía Patológica del Hospital Hernán Henríquez de Temuco. |

| Undescended testes or cryptorchidism in the most common congenital anomaly of male reproductive system. The descent is multifactorial with gubernaculums playing major role. The failure of descent can be at trans-abdominal or inguino-scrotal phase. Locating undescended testes is important in view of low fertility and high rate of occurrence of neoplasm in them. | Los nervios cutáneos dorsales del pie se originan a partir del nervio fibular superficial (NFS), después que éste pasa desde el compartimiento lateral de la pierna a través de la fascia profunda, para luego distribuirse superficialmente en el dorso del pie. A veces, el nervio fibular superficial se divide precozmente, por lo que estos nervios se originan profundamente y con una disposición diferente. Con el propósito de dar a conocer en estos casos, los niveles de origen de los nervios cutáneos dorsales del pie y el punto de penetración en la fascia profunda de la pierna, se estudiaron 16 muestras de individuos, chilenos, adultos, fijadas en formaldehido al 10%. | To analyze the effects of concurrent training (CT) on the muscle fibers of Wistar rats submitted to standard and hypercaloric diets. In total, 40 rats were used, divided into 4 groups: Sedentary Group (GS); Exercise Group (GE), Obese Sedentary Group (OS) and Obese Exercise Group (OE). The animals performed a CT protocol consisting of: muscle strength training and aerobic training, carried out 3 times a week for 45 days.
