Survey and evaluation on rice seed quality in Mae Hong Son Province were conducted during 2009-2010. The survey aimed to investigate farmer’s practices on rice seed production and uses, seed demand and problems as well as to monitor farmers after using good seed. Three groups of people were interviewed consisted of seed producers and sellers, farmers who used their own seed and farmers who used good seed. The result showed that most of the seed samples were unqualified as compared to the Rice Department seed standard. The major problems found were seed impurity and mixed of foreign materials. Limited supply of good quality seeds is a major concern for a public sector. Model development of integrated seed production by farmers in Surin province is a project that aims to educate farmers about an appropriate technology for seed production and also marketing skill. The project was carried out in 2013 at Changpi sub-district, Sri Korabhum district, Surin province. There were 8 farmers participating in this project. Seeds of KDML105 from the Rice Department were used. Seedlings were transplanted using a transplanter. การยืดอายุการเก็บรักษาเมล็ดพันธุ์หลักในสภาพควบคุมอากาศและความชื้น Thai Agricultural

Storage is a major problem for foundation seed production. Occasionally, deterioration occurred before planting time and low germination was shown. The experiment on extending storability of foundation seed in hermatic condition was conducted in Phatthalung Rice Research Center between May 2011 – April 2014. The two varieties; Chiang Phatthalung and Phitsanulok 2 were used in this experiment. Seed moisture content of approximate 10 tons in each variety was reduced to 10.44 and 11.24% in Chiang Phatthalung and Phitsanulok 2, respectively. Seeds were then put in plastic bag and stored in hermatic condition (cocoon) compared to normal storage (control). Hawm Gra Dung Ngah rice variety was collected from Tak Bai district, Narathiwat province in 2009. The promising line, PTNC09002-59 was pure-line selected from the 59th row out of 200 rows. It is a photoperiod-sensitive, non-glutinous rice flowering in the mid of February, Its height is 159 centimeters with 10 panicle per hill. Its average grain yields under intra-station yield trial in Pattani, farmer field trials in Nhong Chik district, Pattani and in Tak Bai district, Narathiwat was 501, 385 and 383 kilograms per rai, respectively. The experimental study design was used to examine the effects of accelerated aging on deterioration of seed quality and electrolyte leakage of cucumber seeds. The original cucumber seeds had 99 germination percentage. The cucumber seeds were taken to accelerated aging process; in aging chamber with constant temperature 450C and 100% of relative humidity for 0-21 days. CCS06039-KLG-8-3-5-1 is a non-glutinous, non-photoperiod sensitive and aromatic rice line derived from a cross between PSBRc54 and IR22. The single cross hybridization was made in 2006 at Bang Khen Rice Experiment Station (now Chachoengsao Rice Research. F2 to F5 progenies were selected at Klong Luang Rice Reseach Center during 2007-2008. The line CCS06039-KLG-8-3-5-1 has an erect and moderately strong culm; 110 cm height on transplanting and 105 cm height on germinated seed broadcasting; 117 days maturity on transplanting and 106 days maturity on germinated seed broadcasting. The objective of this study was to investigatethe effects of osmopriming method with different chemicals on changes in quality of hybrid tomato seeds. The experiment was conducted at the Seed Quality Testing Laboratory Seed Processing Plant, Faculty of Agriculture, KhonKaen University. The tomato seeds were soaked in water plus PEG 6000 (-1.5 MPa) in combination with KNO3 (1% and 2%), KH2PO4 (1% and 2%) and vitamin C (1% and 2%) at 15°C for 5 days. After priming process, seed moisture content was subsequently reduced to their initial by therotating modified air seed dryer machine (Model KKU 40-2). The objective of this experiment was to create identical seed by coating with fluorescent compounds. The experiment was conducted at Seed Technology Section of Seed Processing Plant, Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University. The coating formulations were prepared using 1.5 % Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) of fluorescent Rhodamine-B at the rates of 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8 gram.The tomato seeds were coated by Centri Seed Coater (Model SKK 10). The study was to investigate the effect of planting dates on tomato production under plastic house for seed production and continuous tomato production. Tomato variety TBRY was planted, one and half month interval during June 2008 and January 2009, under plastic-house at the vegetable-experimental fields, Khon Kaen University. A Completely Randomized Design with three replications was used. Data were recorded for growth, yield and seed quality. The results showed that growth of tomato grown in rainy season was better than in winter season, but yield in rainy season was low.
