O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar os efeitos da irrigação sobre as concentrações foliares de P e Zn e sobre a produtividade e o crescimento do cafeeiro (Coffea arabica), cultivado em plantio tradicional e adensado. Utilizou-se o delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, em arranjo de parcelas subdivididas, com quatro repetições. As parcelas corresponderam às densidades de plantio (3.333 e 10.000 plantas ha-1), e as subparcelas corresponderam às lâminas d'água, aplicadas por quatro manejos de irrigação: início da irrigação, quando a tensão d´água no solo à profundidade de 0,25 m atingia valores próximos a 20 ou 60 kPa; turno fixo de irrigação (três vezes por semana), de acordo com o balanço hídrico climatológico; e testemunha sem irrigação. This paper evaluates the nutritional impact on growth, production and quality variables of gerbera crop when fertigated with treated domestic effluents. An experiment was carried out in greenhouse at the Embrapa Meio-Norte in Teresina, in the State of Piauí, Brazil, from July to October 2007. The knowledge of the amount of liquid injected by this device is used to ensure an adequate fertigation operation and management. The objective of this work was to evaluate yield and average fruit weight of strawberry cultivars Albion, Camarosa, Festival and Oso Grande, in two closed hydroponic systems (gutters and grow bags), using coconut fibre as substrate. The experimental design was of randomised blocks, divided into strips, with five replications. The hydroponic systems did not differ significantly as to yield, with advantages, such as savings in water and fertilizer and reduced environmental impact, over open systems. However, they also generate considerable energy losses which affect the pressure in the system. Among the numerous processes reported for sterilization of contaminated effluents, the advanced oxidative process (AOP) stands out for being effective in polishing degrading dissolved organic compounds.
