| A qualitative and quantitative composition of lipids in blood serum and gonads of the Black Sea horse mackerel and rock perch is studied. It is shown that during genital products maturation there occur considerable changes in the gonads both in the content of lipids sum and in certain lipid fractions. Lipid concentration is maximum at stage IV. In the horse mackerel and rock perch blood serum the lipid concentration during generative synthesis is increased and during the spawning process their amount is lowered. |

| The specific rates are determined for utilization of different organic substrates solved in water for growth by some Black sea macrophytes as well as those for utilixation of cystosira homogenates for growth by two alga species accompanying cystosira in coastal communities(Ulva and Calythamnion). Simultaneously a regulating influence of cystosira homogenate on Ulva and Calythamnion photosynthesis was studied at different homogenate concentrations. The total biological effect of cystosira homogenate on two accompanying species is calculated and the portion of autotrophic and organotrophic nutrition is determined for each species. The ecological role of the excreted organic matters in the macrophyte community is under discussion. |

| The data on the content of water, solids, mineral fraction and caloric value of eggs at the initial and final stages of embryonic development are obtained for 12 species of marine crustaceans (isopods, amphipods, decapods). It is shown that an increase in the content of water and ashes during embryogenesis and a decrease in dry mass and caloric value of the embryos are a regularity common for all the studied crustaceans. |

| Changes are shown in the eutrophication level whose increase resulted from intensification of pollution introduced by rivers into the north-western part of the Black sea. Fauna rearrangements in limans caused by changes in the limans hydrology due to changes in river run-off are considered. | The results are presented concerning determinations of chlorophyll "a" content in plankton of the Black, Ionian, Sardinian seas and in the Atlantic in a 100 m layer and at standard depths. The material was collected in April-August, 1976 during the 30th cruise of the research ship "Mikhail Lomonosov". Determinations were carried out by spectrophotometric method in membrane filters. The average indices of chlorophyll for the 0-100 m layer varied from 0.07 to 0.08 mg/m^3 in the Sardinian sea, from 0.006 to 0.09 in a zone of convergences in the southern Atlantic, from 0.24 to 0.35 mg/m^3 in the productive upwelling zones. |

| 648 individuals of fishes are examined. They are presented by 18 species and 9 families: Gadidae, Zeidae, Scombridae, Engraulidae, Carangidae, Scorpaenidae, Synodontidae, Nemipteridae, Nomeidae. The Anisakis and Contracaecum larvae found in 507 individuals of fishes are presented by two forms. It is established that fish infected with nematode larvae from the Anisakidae family but treated by the method used at refrigerator ships may be utilized for preparing food production. |

| The lipid composition of the muscles and liver of the Black sea anchovy in the region of the Crimea and Caucasus at the end of fattening was studied as affected by the Contracaecum aduncum larvae. The qualitative and quantitative composition of lipids is established in anchovy with different intensity of the Contracaecum aduncum invasion. The triglyceride fraction is most affected by the nematodes. the concentration of triglycerides in strongly infected anchovy is 34%, 28% and 29% lower in the white muscles, red muscles and liver, respectively, than in weakly infected anchovy. |

| 263 individuals of different age roach were studied in the eastern and western regions of the Sea of Azov. The 3-4 year roach is established to be most susceptible to helminthic infection, the invasion with some parasites being most extensive and intense. With age the number of the helminths species decreases, their invasion becomes less extensive and intense. The largest number of the helminth species is observed in the 4-5 year pike perch. The character of the helminthofauna age changes in the examined fishes is the same as in fresh-water fishes. |

| The oxygen uptake rate in representatives of Coelenterata and Ctenophora from the Black and Barents seas, tropic and temperature latitudes of the Atlantic ocean was measured at 9, 16 and 29 deg.C. The metabolism levels at each temperature are estimated according to the parameters of the equations expressing the relation of the respiration rate to the body mass. The results obtained are compared with the data from literature. A highly close dependence between the respiration rate of the animals and habitat temperature is established, which is approximated by the Arrhenius function. | The levels of nitrogen excretion and oxygen uptake are compared in the marine invertebrates: squids, octopuses, isopods, euphausiids and salps. They are expressed by the quantitative exponential equations. both indexes are in similar dependence on the body mass and animals activity. The ratio between the values of nitrogen excretion and oxygen uptake is calculated and the portion of oxygen spent for protein oxidation is determined. |

| The composition of the S. pteropus helminthofauna in the East-Central Atlantic is qualitatively poor. 10 species of the helminths were registered among which only a probascis worm was in a puberal form. For the other species S. pteropus serves as intermediate or reserve host. Differences in the infection of S. pteropus with the larval forms of helminths under practically identical temperature conditions of the East-Central Atlantic are explained by the presence of two geographical populations differing by their ecologo-physiological characters. |

| On the basis of long-term studies (1966-1969) of the mammals and fishes in the Okhotsk and Bering Seas by means of different significance tests (Shapiro-Wilk, D'Agostino, Wilk-Shapiro, Jackson) it is shown that the frequency distributions for Sr90 concentrations in bones, muscles and whole organisms of these animals may be described by both the logarithmical-normal distribution and gamma-distribution. The best agreement was with the latter distribution. |

| Succinate dehydrogenase activity was studied in tissues of anchovy, sprats, horse mackerel, mackerel, Diplodus annularis L. and Spicara smaris L. A clear dependence of the enzymatic activity of tissues on temperature is shown. The red muscles are considerably more active in oxidation of the substrate than the white ones. The investigations showed a close relation between succinate dehydrogenase activity of tissues and their functional peculiarities as well as ecological and physiological characteristics of the fishes. |

| The food intake rate by the benthic invertebrates of the Barents sea (Idotea baltica, Gammarus oceanicus, Strongylocentrotus droebachiensis) at 8 deg.C depending on the animals mass is well approximated by the equation C = 0.199*W^0.593, where C is the ration in milligram of dry mass per animal for a day and W is the body dry mass (mg). A relative ration of certain size groups changed from 5.6 to 18% of the mass energy equivalent in I.baltica and from 0.9 to 6.8% in G.oceanicus. Food assimilability grew from fry to adult animals for vegetable food and remained practically constant for animal food. No specificity was found in the degree of food assimilation by males and females. A tendency to the assimilation decrease is shown when temperature rises. |
