It was the first flora covering the whole territory of the Netherlands, in which Linnaeus’s binomial nomenclature was applied. It is to be regretted that by far the greater part of the Netherlands herbarium of De Gorter got lost. Ait. f. op Voorne. Als aanvulling op mijn artikel over district-vreemde soorten op Voorne (Gorteria 6, 1970, p. 88) kan ik nog een vondst van 1970 vermelden van Aceras anthropophorum, die bij ons vroeger in Zuid-Limburg werd aangetroffen en die, ook elders in Europa, nog nergens in de duinen is waargenomen. Langs een pad, dat ca. 15 jaar geleden gemaakt werd door het struweel van Rosa rubiginosa, Ligustrum vulgare en Hippophaë rhamnoides, werden door de heer R. Ram (Pernis) tijdens een excursie twee mooie exemplaren gevonden, die in het najaar, samen met een zaailing zijn teruggekomen. In het voorjaar van 1971 stonden op dezelfde plaats een drietal planten waarvan twee in knop. In aansluiting op deze mededeling kan ik vermelden,... The common Rice grass in the Netherlands proved to be Spartina anglica C. E. Hubbard instead of S. x townsendii H. & J. Groves as has been cited in Dutch literature. In less than 55 years after its introduction in 1924 S. anglica succeeded in almost completely crowding out the original S. maritima (Curt.) Fern. According to C. E. Hubbard, who kindly revised several of our specimens, only 4 collections belong to the hybrid S. x townsendii, 2 to a triple-hybrid? S. anglica x (S. x townsendii) and one to an unknown Spartina-hybrid. Lamium X cardiaca Cogniaux, found before 1815 in Belgium near Kanne by Nyst, and considered by its author to be the hybrid of Lamium maculatum and Leonurus cardiaca, falls within the variability of L maculatum L. It has also been found in the Netherlands between Mook and Middelaar (prov. Limburg) and described as L. maculatum L. f. trilobum Joh. Jansen in Ned. Kruidk. Arch. 1930, p. 223. Since publication of the distribution map of Mibora minima in the Atlas of the Netherlands Flora¹, several new localities of this rare species have been added to the ones previously known. Some of them are from the coastal dunes, where M. minima is growing in (semi-)natural environments, and one is from a former railroad-yard in the south of the province of Limburg. Thusfar the main localities appeared to be associated with tree nurseries. The opinion that the species was introduced into the Netherlands from nurseries abroad, seems to be incorrect, also, because the first record in the Netherlands, from 1825, is from a dune area. In the first decades of its existence the interest of the Rijksherbarium was certainly not directed towards the study of the Dutch and European flora. The initiative to embark on research of the flora of the Netherlands was born outside the walls of the institute. In 1845, R. B. van den Bosch initiated — elsewhere in Leiden! — the foundation of the ‘Vereeniging voor de Nederlandsche Flora’ (Society for the Netherlands Flora), later the ‘Nederlandsche Botanische Vereeniging’ (N.B.V.), to promote the knowledge of the flora and encourage the collection of plants for a ‘Vereenigingsherbarium’. Prins, tijdelijk werkzaam aan de afdeling Nederland van het Rijksherbarium, vond in de maand september van 1975 te Voorburg, Z.H., in een slootje tussen de wijk Essesteijn en de spoorbaan verschillende exemplaren van Pistia stratiotes. Deze mededeling achterhaalt mijn uitspraak, onlangs gedaan in Natura 74 (5), 1977, p. 187, dat ons „in 1974 en 1975 ... geen vondsten uit Nederland van dit „aquarium-adventief” (zijn) gemeld.” De vindplaats is gelegen in uurhok 30.46, zodat het verspreidingskaartje van deze soort op p. 188 van hetzelfde artikel niet behoeft te worden aangevuld. Overigens is tot nu toe geen enkele vondst bekend van de Watersla in 1977. Dit zou er op kunnen wijzen, dat geen van de vele...
