การยอมรับของเกษตรกรต่อข้าวนาชลประทานสายพันธุ์ดีเด่นในภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ Thai Agricultural
Jongjai Mapakhe.
This study aims to evaluate the farmers' preference to promising irrigated rice lines grown in farmers' fields in north eastern Thailand during wet season 2013. The preference analyses were carried out at 2 stages; at reproductive stage to evaluate for agronomic characteristics, and after harvest to evaluate for grain physical qualities and cooking qualities. Two sets of promising lines were evaluated; glutinous and non-glutinous set. At the reproductive stage, the preference analyses were carried out in 3 provinces. It was found that the glutinous cultivar RD10 and the non-glutinous line KKN01041-23-2-1-1 were the most preferred cultivar/line by farmers. The reasons for their preference were because of the following traits; strong stem, good tillering...

Measurement of methane emission from rice production systems is a methodology for data collection of Carbon Footprint from rice production system. Four major rice production systems were defined for methane emission measurement in 2012, including upland rice, rainfed rice, irrigated rice with good agricultural practices (GAP) and irrigated rice with alternative wet and dry (AWD). Gas samples were taken one week interval and analyzed by Gas Chromatograph; GC-8A as soon as possible after collection. The research found that upland rice could absorb CH4 at the rate of 0.176 kg methane rai-1 season-1. Rainfed rice production system in Northeast Thailand emitted CH4 at the rate of 85.26 kg rai-1 season-1 under transplanting and 51.64 kg rai-1 season-1 under...

Cytogenotoxicity of rice crop water after application of the tricyclazole fungicide Anais da ABC (AABC)
WANDSCHEER,ALANA C.D.; MARCHESAN,ENIO; TEDESCO,SOLANGE B.; FRESCURA,VIVIANE DAL-SOUTO; SOARES,CAMILLE F.; LONDERO,GUILHERME P.; TELÓ,GUSTAVO M.; HANSEL,DÂMARIS S.S..
ABSTRACT Tricyclazole is currently one of the fungicides recommended for the treatment of diseases in irrigated rice. However, there is relatively little information on its cytotoxic and genotoxic potential. The objective of this study was to evaluate the cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of rice crop water after apllication of the tricyclazole fungicide through the Allium cepa L. test. The rice crop water samplings were collected before and 1, 15 and 30 days after application of the fungicide in rice plant shoots. The Allium cepa roots were placed in contact with the rice crop water to check for possible chromosomal abnormalities and mitotic index of the bioindicators meristematic cells. The data obtained by the Allium cepa test indicates that the application...

Effect of Nitrogen Rates and Split Nitrogen Fertilization on Grain Yield and its Components in Flooded Rice Chilean J. Agric. Res.
Hirzel,Juan; Pedreros,Alberto; Cordero,Karla.
Nutritional management in rice (Oryza sativa L.) crops is mainly associated with N fertilization, which is difficult to adjust in field conditions due to variations in soil type and climatic conditions. Between 28 000 and 46 000 ha per year is dedicated to rice production in Chile and profits depend on fertilization. A field experiment determine the effect of N rates and split N fertilization on grain yield and its components was carried out in two locations during two consecutive seasons (2007 to 2009), where five N rates and five split N fertilizations were evaluated. The locations were in Parral (36º2’ S; 72º08’ W, Vertisol) and San Carlos (36º19’ S; 71º59’ W, Inceptisol), with N rates of 80, 100, 120, 140, and 160 kg ha-1 applied in different...

Evaluation of the ORYZA2000 Rice Growth Model under Nitrogen-Limited Conditions in an Irrigated Mediterranean Environment Chilean J. Agric. Res.
Artacho,Pamela; Meza,Francisco; Alcalde,José Antonio.
ORYZA2000 is a growth model for tropical lowland rice ( Oryza sativa L.) developed by the International Rice Research Institute and Wageningen University. This model has been evaluated extensively in a wide range of environments. However, reports examining japonica cultivars growing in temperate climates are scarce. In this study, ORYZA2000 was calibrated and evaluated using data from experiments carried out in the South-Central area of Chile. These experiments were performed on a japonica rice cultivar growing under an irrigated Mediterranean environment at various N rates. ORYZA2000 was then applied to explore potential yield and grain yield response to N fertilization under likely weather conditions in the major rice-producing area in Chile. ORYZA2000...

Performance of rice hybrids determined by different planting arrangements Ciencia e Investigación Agraria
Goulart,Eduardo da S; Braga Schuch,Luis O; Tunes,Lilian V. Madruga de; Vieira,Jucilayne F.
The practices and techniques used in irrigated rice to improve performance include optimal plant density and the best arrangement of the plants in an area. This study aims to evaluate the performance and plasticity in the yield and grain quality of three rice hybrids using different row spacing. The field experiments were conducted during the 2010/2011 season in rice crops in Capão do Leão, Viamão and Uruguaiana in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Three different sowing arrangements were evaluated, i.e., row spacing of 17 cm, 34 cm, and 17 cm alternated with 34 cm, which corresponded to densities of 40, 20 and 32 kg ha-1, respectively. The experimental design used was randomized blocks with subdivided plots replicated three times considering each...

Influence of the wind on water application uniformity of a mechanical lateral move irrigation equipment using rotating plate sprinklers Ciência Rural
Faria,Lessandro Coll; Beskow,Samuel; Colombo,Alberto; Nörenberg,Bernardo Gomes; Rettore Neto,Osvaldo; Simões,Matheus Chagas.
ABSTRACT: Investigations demonstrate that the wind is the factor that causes the biggest negative influence on water application of sprinkler irrigation systems. Therefore, this paper aims to evaluate, in in-field conditions, the influence of wind on the water distribution uniformity of a mechanical lateral move sprinkler system used for irrigation in rice crop in the South of Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. The equipment is located at the Campo Experimental de Terras Baixas (ETB) of EMBRAPA/CPACT and operates with water emitters model I-Wob installed in drop tubes in a distance of 2.8m above the soil surface, having a uniform space of 2.3m between each other and pressure regulators of 68.9kPa. Sixteen in-field evaluations were done and they permitted to...
