Influence nutritionnelle de la vitamine A et de la nature des lipides sur la morphogenèse de la larve de bar (Dicentrarchus labrax): implicaton de la voie des rétinoïdes ArchiMer
Villeneuve, Laure.
The aim of this study was to determine the nutritional effects of vitamin A and PUFA (including EPA and DHA) on sea bass larvae development. An excess of vitamin A in the diet led to malformations affecting the cephalic region linked to an increase of RARgama transcription and the loss of a vertebra when larvae were fed this diet from 8 days post hatch (dph) to 13 dph. A diet containing an excess of PUFA disrupted the development of larvae vertebral column, deformities were correlated to a decrease of RARalpha, RARgama, RXRalpha and BMP4 transcription and an additional vertebra appeared when larvae were fed this diet from 8 dph to 13 dph. A diet containing 31 mg/kg of dry matter of vitamin A and between 1.1 and 2.3% of EPA + DHA allows larvae to develop...

Modélisation biophysique pour la prévision du recrutement ArchiMer
Allain, Gwenhael.
Exploited fish populations are dependent on recruitment (i.e. size of the new year class) to sustain their abundance. Recruitment variations are related to hydroclimatic variations and may accentuate the detrimental effects of fishing. Recruitment prediction requires accurate fisheries oceanographic tools, which are expected to be more reliable than large-scale correlation analyses between fish abundance and climate variables. Recruitment is the result of the integration over a season and large oceanic areas of processes affecting larval survival, which are dependent on small-scale mechanisms. Hydrodynamic models are a tool to perform this integration. This thesis aims at exploring and modelling physical-biological interaction mechanisms in order to...

Arnaud, Christophe; Faury, Nicole; Bouquet, Jean-paul; Guesdon, Stephane.
Monitoring of reproduction in the oyster Crassostrea gigas, and more particularly in the mussel Mytilis edulis were conducted, in the Marennes-Oléron Bay each year, from June to September. This report gives the main results obtained in 1997, 1998, 1999,2000 and compares the results between years. It also summarises the fishing techniques used and gives information on larval development in the annexes. NOT CONTROLLED OCR
