| Multispecies leys contain different ecosystem services, and feed resources for pollinators can possibly be one. The challenge is to construct grassland with different flowering species and with a continuous flowering without compromising yield and herbage quality. A field experiment was carried out to examine the effect of cutting strategy in different designed species mixtures on yield, herbage quality and flowering. Two main types of mixtures were examined. High productive grass/clover mixtures with chicory, ribwort plantain or caraway and lower productive two species mixtures with weak competitors, salad burnet or dandelion, together with either birdsfoot trefoil, red clover or lucerne. | Die Erzeugung hochwertiger Grobfuttermittel spielt für die Rentabilität und Nachhaltigkeit der Milcherzeugung im ökologischen Landbau eine entscheidende Rolle. Grobfuttermittel beeinflussen die Gesundheit und Leistung des Milchviehs auf verschiedene Art und Weise. Zudem variieren die standörtlichen Bedingungen des Futterbaus sowie die avisierten Leistungsniveaus der Milchviehhaltung in der Praxis erheblich (Haas et al. 2001, Brinkmann & Winckler 2005, Müller-Lindenlauf et al. 2010). Ziel dieser Untersuchung ist es, die Variabilität der betrieblichen Konzepte der Grobfuttererzeugung überregional zu analysieren und etwaige Strategietypen zu identifizieren, die für weitergehende Analysen und Beratungsempfehlungen eine objektivierte Grundlage bieten. |

| I Danmark har der ikke været tradition for at afgræsse lucerne, og derfor har alle anvendte sorter været af slættype. I de senere år har det især i økologisk jordbrug været en stigende interesse for afgræsning af lucerne. Tre afgræsningssorter af lucerne blev derfor undersøgt i 2010 på Foulum – to nye sorter Verbena og Camboregio og en ældre sort Luzelle. Sorterne blev dyrket i renbestand og to forskellige blandinger med alm. rajgræs. Parcellerne blev afgræsset af kvier, med en forholdsvis hård afgræsning, i to forskellige slæt/afgræsnings systemer. Generelt klarede Verbena sig bedst og Camporegio dårligst. | Ekologická stáda dojnic v podmínkách České republiky trpí nedostatkem energie ve výživě. To je fakt, vzdor lepší reprodukci a delšímu produkčnímu věku krav v porovnání ke konvenčním chovům. Ekologická stáda také souběžně vykazují příznivě vyšší obsahy Ca a Mg v mléce. Certifikovaná metodika je zaměřena na praktické řešení problému mírného nedostatku dusíkatých látek a nedostatku energie ve výživě krav ve specifických podmínkách ekologického mlékařství. Problém je řešen pomocí vhodných doporučení pro specifickou péči o zakládání a ošetřování travních a jetelovinotravních pastevních a lučních porostů, které tvoří krmnou základnu stád v ekologickém mlékařství. |

| Aufgrund der sich stark wandelnden Rahmenbedingungen kommen neue Herausforderungen auf die Landwirtschaft des Alp- und Berggebietes zu. Die Graslandvegetation ist von zentraler Bedeutung für die Alpwirtschaft, die Biodiversität und die Landschaft im Berg- und Alpgebiet. Eine nachhaltige Wiesen- und Weidenutzung muss in diesem ökologisch sensiblen Raum speziell auf die standortbedingten Einschränkungen Rücksicht nehmen. | A nine year crop rotation experiment was carried out in the Netherlands from 2002 through 2010 to (1) determine the optimal length of the grass-clover (mixture) and maize period in crop rotations and (2) to determine which crops should receive slurry application with priority in case the availability of cattle slurry is limited. The results show that dry matter yield decreased for all treatments over the experimental period, due to a decrease in plant-available N (from N fixation by the clover, applied slurry and mineralization of soil N). The relative yield increase (increase relative to the negative trend) due to slurry application was largest when all crops received slurry application, and the effects of slurry application increased over time. |

| I Økologisk Rådgivning har vi også i år gennemført et forsøg med ukrudtsbekæmpelse i lupin. Forsøget skal medvirke til at forbedre strategien for ukrudtsbekæmpelse i lupin. I forsøget er sorterne Rose og Boruta sået på to forskellige rækkeafstande, og ukrudtsbekæmpelsen er sket ved strigling, radrensning eller strigling i kombination med radrensning. Begge sorter er af den forgrenede type, der bliver noget tættere og konkurrerer bedre mod ukrudtet end sorter af den ugrenede type. |

| The aim of the present study was to compare the effect of mixed grazing (MI) by sows and heifers with alternate grazing (AL) or grazing heifers (HN) and sows (SN) alone on animal weight gain, sward structure, herbage quality and composition, and selection during grazing. Mixed or alternate grazing consistently improved the weight gain in both heifers and sows, compared with grazing one species alone, but the positive effect was statistically significant only for heifers. | Schwefel ist ein wichtiger Pflanzennährstoff und die Immissionen aus der Atmosphäre gingen seit 1980 stark zurück. Unter diesen Rahmenbedingungen wurde der Einsatz eines elementaren Schwefeldüngers ("Sulfogüll plus" von BvG) auf einer 4-schnittigen Dauerwiese getestet. Vier Schwefeldüngungsstufen von 0 (S0), 30 (S30), 60 (S60) und 90 (S90) kg S/ha stellten die Varianten dar. Variante S60 und S90 erreichten die signifikant höchste TM- (S60 10.779 und S90 11.073 kg/ha) XP- (S60 1.749 und S90 1798 kg/ha) und Energie-Erträge (S60 64.008 und S90 65.370 MJ/ha) im Vergleich zur Variante S0 (TM: 9.947 kg/ha, XP: 1.569 kg/ha, Energie: 58.434 MJ NEL/ha). | Poa pratensis is one of the most important grass species in Alpine region with a high protection against weed infestation. The most difficulties for an establishment in permanent grassland are a steady juvenile growth and a low competitive strength during this time. | O desempenho agronômico da berinjeleira foi avaliado em cultivo agroecológico, comparando-se espécies de gramínea e leguminosa perenes para cobertura viva do solo. O experimento foi conduzido no município de Seropédica-RJ, no delineamento de blocos casualizados, com parcelas subdivididas e três repetições. Foram avaliadas as coberturas vivas do solo com amendoim forrageiro (Arachis pintoi), grama batatais (Paspalum notatum) e preparo convencional do solo (controle).
