| O levantamento socioeconômico previsto no projeto Gestão Participativa da Microbacia Hidrográfica do Rio São Domingos - GEPAR-MBH utilizou uma abordagem participativa, de forma a engajar as comunidades locais na pesquisa de sua realidade, e possibilitar uma efetiva ação para a melhoria de seus problemas. | Embrapa presents, as results of its research projects, products that can be appropriated by agroindustries, both family and commodities, focusing on the development of new products and the improvement of the agroindustrial food processing for the population benefit. There are several solutions, from products developed based on plant raw materials, as well as from animal origin, and processes and machinery. Thus, the solution can go from a cultivar developed for industrial purposes, or a simple equipment to break an almond shell, or a portable meat industrialization unit approved to obtain legal records of production and commercialization. |

| Neste trabalho esta sendo proposto o desenvolvimento de alternativas tecnologicas que permitam o manejo sustentado da vegetacao da caatinga, com o objetivo de evitar a degradacao ambiental e promover a recuperacao da produtividade agricola e pecuaria em niveis economicos e ecologicos. A manipulacao da vegetacao, atraves do raleamento, do rebaixamento, do raleamento-rebaixamento e do enriquecimento, pode aumentar a disponibilidade de forragem em ate 800% e a producao animal em ate 1500%. | The new sustainable development data repository requires new analysis grids, in particular for factors accounted for in productive system typologies. This paper, based on the aquaculture example, analyses the diversity in aquaculture systems with respect to sustainable development. Various typologies are obtained by evaluating structural and functional approaches integrating variables related to production and regulation systems and to the territorial insertion of fish farms. | Product quality is an element of sustainable development for fisheries because it guarantees the safety and quality of landings, as well as optimal uptake. Where FADs fishing is concerned, open boats used for the capture of large pelagic fish are not big enough to be equipped with sufficient (regulatory) catch preservation equipment. | Using the Celtic Sea and the North Sea as case studies, the fleet-based approach is shown to be the pathway to implement an effective ecosystem approach to fisheries management (EAFM) in European seas. First, a diagnostic on the health of each ecosystem is proposed based on the reconstruction of long time-series of catch, the analysis of mean indicators or stocks trajectories derived from ICES stock assessment results, and the analysis of ecosystem indicators. | How may fish domestication participate in sustainable development of aquaculture? The development of fish farming currently compensates for the stagnation of fishery catches while the market demand continues to increase. The development of fish farming relies on an active diversification of farmed fish species. A diversification based on the farming of native species could reduce the environmental impact of fish culture and could better fit to needs of local markets. Such development could also favour a more integrated local economy. In this context, the building of a generic approach for multi-species domestication is required to optimise the use of the technical and financial means available for fish culture diversification. |
