| From the 8(th) to the 11(th) April 2007 at Reunion Island (Indian Ocean) some fish were collected at sea surface after the eruption of the Piton de la Fournaise. Among these are two specimens of Symphysanodon (Perciformes: Symphysanodontidae). This family was recently reviewed (Anderson and Springer, 2005). | Depuis notre arrivée à l'I.S.T.P.M., 1966 pour J.-C. Quéro, 1972 pour J.-J. Vayne, les travaux que nous avons effectués concernent la systématique (descriptions, révisions, études de collections,...), la distribution des espèces (signalements de poissons nouveaux pour une région donnée ou d'espèces rares, répartition géographique et bathymétrique...), les nomenclatures des produits marins, l'écologie des poissons d'une région ou de quelques espèces, la biologie de quelques autres... Nous avons d'autre part assumé au cours de cette période quelques responsabilités scientifiques sur le plan national et international. | Observations on the meagre, Argyrosomus regius (Pisces, Perciformes, Sciaenidae), done in the Bay of Biscay, by amateur fishers, are very instructive. They set a better idea of the young's estival distribution and adults migration. They provide valuable indications about their habitat and their behaviour. | A state of the French Atlantic marine fauna of the Torpediniformes or electric ray (1 family : 3 species), of the Rajiformes or ray and skate (1 family : 18(19) species) and of the Myliobatiformes or syingray, butterfly ray, eagle ray…(3 families : 6 species) is given. In the Bay of Biscay, the large skates which were common in the past, are almost extinct nowadays. The rays living exclusively on the continental shelf area, the most frequented by fishermen, are now endangered. |

| In the present paper a new genus, Diretmoides, and a new species, Diretmoides parini, of the berycomorph family Diretmidae is described. The hitherto single genus of the family, Diretmus Johnson, 1863, therefore becomes monotypic while the new genus includes two species pauciradiatus (Woods, 1973) and parini sp. nov. The genus Diretmus is mainly charactcrized by three features (1) by its anus placed immediately anterior to the anal fin, (2) by a prepelvic ridge of ventral scutes and (3) by the high number of bony lamellae on the upper third of the operculum. | The present study includes the specimens collected in 1982 during the oceanographic cruise "M.D. 32" (11 species identified) and those from the collections of the Museum of Paris (l5 species identified). It allows the completion of our knowledge about the ichthyofauna of the region.
