| Dans le but de démontrer la capacité de bioaccumulation métallique des macroalgues et sa variation temporelle, on s’est intéressé à la détermination de la gamme de concentrations en métaux traces (Plomb, Cadmium, Fer, Manganèse et Zinc) dans trois macroalgues vertes (Ulva rigida, Chaetomorpha linum, Caulerpa prolifera) au niveau de la lagune nord et du canal de navigation de Tunis sujettes à d’importants rejets anthropiques. Des collectes saisonnières ont été faites dans la lagune de Tunis durant la période d’avril 2009 au février 2010. | Newman's (1966) method of total root length estimation is modified and adapted to measure total length of filamentous algae in culture (i.c. <i>Polysiphonia</i>). This method makes possible a measurement and an estimation of the growth of the algae in culture without disturbing them. The petri dishes are placed on a 1x1 mm grid and the filament/grid intersections are counted. Total filament length (T) is given by T = Pi N (LxW)/4(LxW), with N = the number of intersections, L = the length and W = width of area in which the thallus is situated. | The author gives a supplementary list of seaweeds (Chlorophyceae, Bryopsidophyceae, Phaeophyceae, Rhodophyceae) collected at La Revellata (Calvi-Corsica) in the period 1977-1981. 45 taxa are newly listed: 12 have not previously been reported from Corsica, others have only sporadically been found and some have been collected by us from uncommon biotopes. | Thanks to this psychological study, stretched over a period of four years (1968-1972) on the algae population of the Le Dramont rocky coasts, we had the possibility to distinguish 19 different groups. Their apportionment and floristic composition have been consciously observed and studied, in summer as well as during spring, and this up to a depth of 45 m. A high number (35) of sections were done for that purpose, all over the work territory. Some of them are reproduced here (fig. 1, 2, 3, 4), with an indication of the placement of the different groups. Next, we compared our results with those of previous works, and we were able to conclude that the studied area is very analogue to the one of the J. Feldman study of the Albères Coast. |

| The Aquatic system contamination by organic pollutants and heavy metals is one of the most serious problems that might face the environment and organisms as a whole. Interestingly, the accumulation of these pollutants is due to the anthropogenic activity, namely the intensive use of fertilizers to obtain high yields in crop production. In this paper, we compared the levels of chlorophylls, proteins, dry weight and sucrose in some red (Alsidium sp. and Gracilaria sp.) and green algae (Ulva sp.) collected from Mohandis, near Kariat and Bou Areg. Our results indicate that the algae collected nearby Bou Areg, an area well-known for its high agricultural activity, contained high levels of pigments, proteins and sugars. | A floristic study of Coscinodiscophyceae and Fragilariophyceae in the Lago dos Tigres hydrologic system is presented. Phytoplankton samples were collected with a plankton net (25 µm mesh) at 11 sampling stations, three in lotic areas and eight in lacustrine zones. Eleven species of Coscinodiscophyceae and eight of Fragilariophyceae were identified; descriptions, comments, their geographic distributions for the midwestern region of Brazil, type of environment (lentic/lotic), and illustrations are provided. | Abstract The low effective fruiting is one of the biggest problems of apples’ production in Brazil and its main cause involves the process of pollination. The objective was to evaluate the fruit set and production of apple trees cv. Gala treated with extract of seaweed Ascophyllum nodosum and thidiazuron. The experiment was carried out during two cycles (2015/2016 and 2016/2017) in Porto Amazonas, State of Paraná, Brazil, with apple trees cv. Gala. | Algae and cyanobacteria disfigure the external surfaces of buildings and may cause their physico-chemical deterioration. Even though the climate in Brazil is humid, there is no published literature on this problem. The objective of this work was to identify the major phototrophs present on Brazilian constructions in residential, urban and rural sites. The algal and cyanobacterial types present on discolored surfaces of painted buildings in nine different municipalities in Brazil, all lying between latitudes 19° South and 30° South, were examined.
