| Schädlinge, wie der Gemeine Birnenblattsauger (Cacopsylla pyri) verursachen durch ihre Saugtätigkeit und die extremen Honigtauausscheidungen jährliche Ertragsausfälle. Bisher ist eine Bekämpfung des Gemeinen Birnenblattsauger nur mit dem stark nützlingstoxischen Rotenon möglich. Die Prüfung neuer, nützlingsschonender Mittel ist daher ein wichtiges Anliegen. Mit dem Produkt Surround® WP (Firma Engelhardt), welches in Kalifornien eingesetzt wird, um Sonnenbrand auf den Früchten zu verhindern, steht nun ein interessantes, neues Mittel zur Verfügung. Das Produkt auf der Basis des Tonminerals Kaolin überzieht die Bäume mit einer weissen Schicht, so dass sie für Insekten unattraktiv werden. | Alcuni compost, addizionati al suolo o impiegati come componenti di substrati per colture in vaso, possono svolgere un’attività repressiva nei confronti dei patogeni terricoli. Nel biennio 2005-2006 sono stati saggiati, a Grugliasco (TO), in serre in ferro/vetro, compost provenienti da aziende di compostaggio presenti sul territorio piemontese al fine di valutarne la loro capacità repressiva. Dai risultati è emerso l’efficace contenimento nei confronti di F. oxysporum f.sp. basilici, da parte di compost prodotto a partire da rifiuti solidi urbani e fanghi, con una diminuzione fino al 50% di piante morte e un incremento fino al 25% di biomassa prodotta a fine ciclo rispetto a quanto rilevato impiegando un ammendante torboso scelto come riferimento. |

| The European cherry fruit fly, Rhagoletis cerasi Loew (Diptera: Tephritidae), is a highly destructive pest of sweet cherries in Europe. Up to 100% of the fruit can be infested. Methods for controlling this pest are limited in organic agriculture as well as in integrated production, as the insecticide currently used (Dimethoate) is being challenged due to problems of ecotoxicity and residues. | Perennierende Unkräuter wie die Ampfer-Arten oder die Acker-Kratzdistel stellen im Ökologischen Landbau immer noch ein großes Problem dar. | Trials were carried out in Liguria during three years (2004-2006) to evaluate the use of innovative starch based bioplastics for soil mulching. All trials carried out in open field as well as in greenhouse on different vegetable crops demonstrated the effectiveness of biodegradable films in controlling weeds and in increasing yield. The use of biodegradable mulching films found application in integrated production regulations set up by the regional authority and it is potentially adoptable in an organic farming context. |

| On the Russian market there are no currently registered biological preparations for the control of Rhagoletis cerasi (cherry fruit fly, CFF), and therefore the effects of natural products against this pest were studied. In laboratory, semi-field and field experiments a range of botanicals (NeemAzal-T/S and Quassia-MD) were tested alone and in combination with comparison product Phytoverm and chemical standard insecticides for their effectiveness against R. cerasi in commercial orchards. These products showed a high biological effectiveness against R. cerasi comparable with chemical insecticides. |

| The Colorado Potato Beetle is one of the most important pests of potatoes. The effect of various plant protection products based on neem (NeemAzal-T/S), pyrethrum/rape oil (Spruzit Neu) and Bacillus thuringiensis - B.t.t. (Novodor FC) against this pest has been compared in a field experiment from 2004 until 2006. The combined application of neem and B.t.t.-product have reduced the number of Colorado Potato Beetle larvae as well as the losses of plant material by feed of the beetle larvae significantly. In three years of field experiments the application of pyrethrum/rape oil has shown no significant effect to reduce the number of Colorado Potato Beetles. |

| Målet med dette 4-årige prosjektet er å fremskaffe kunnskap om forhold som påvirker sikkerhet og kvalitet i dyrking av grovfôr og lokal produksjon av konsentrerte fôrmidler under økologiske driftsbetingelser i Nord-Norge. Prosjektet består av to deler: En serie med tre fôringsforsøk med melkeku, og et feltforsøk med ulike dyrkingsregimer for eng. Prosjektet gjennomføres i samarbeid med Bodin gård som er under omlegging til økologisk drift. Fôringsforsøkene i delprosjekt 1 innebærer 4 grupper à 8 melkekyr.
