Eine Neue Albinaria Art (Gastropoda, Clausiliidae) der Insel Kephallinia Naturalis
Gittenberger, E..
Keine...

Pectinoidea (Mollusca, Bivalvia, Propeamussiidae, Entoliidae and Pectinidae) from the Austral Islands (French Polynesia) Naturalis
Dijkstra, H.H.; Maestrati, P..
Twenty-nine species of Pectinoidea (12 Propeamussiidae, 1 Entoliidae, 16 Pectinidae) are recorded from the Austral Islands, the southernmost archipelago of French Polynesia. One genus (Pectinidae: Lamellipecten n. gen.) and five species (Propeamussiidae: Parvamussium australanum n. sp., Cyclochlamys australensis n. sp., Cyclopecten ambiguus n. sp.; Pectinidae: Lamellipecten aduncus n. gen., n. sp., Mimachlamys erycina n. sp.) are new to science, and most others are new records for the archipelago. The near-shore fauna of Rapa has 12 species of Pectinidae, and half of these have narrow-range distributions. Such a remarkably high level of marine endemism is shared by other mollusc taxa on Rapa.

The Marine Mollusca of Suriname (Dutch Guiana) Holocene and recent Part II. Bivalvia and Scaphopoda Naturalis
Regteren Altena, C.O. van.
"The student must know something of systematic work. This is populary supposed to be a dry-as-dust branch of zoology. In fact, the systematist may be called the dustman of biology, for he performs a laborious and frequently thankless task for his fellows, and yet it is one which is essential for their well-being and progress". The Southeast European Hypnophila species (Mollusca: Gastropoda Pulmonata: Cochlicopidae) Naturalis
Gittenberger, E..
The four Southeast European Hypnophila species are characterized conchologically. Their ranges are indicated on the basis of reliable records and summarized in a distribution map. The nomenclature is revised: a neotype is selected for H. polita (Porro, 1838), a lectotype is selected for H. pupaeformis (Cantraine, 1835), and a persistent error in the interpretation of H. zacynthia (Roth, 1855) is corrected.

Results of the Rumphius Biohistorical Expedition to Ambon (1990). Part 13. Mollusca, Bivalvia, Cardiidae Naturalis
Poorten, J.J. ter.
31 Cardiidae species have been collected in Ambon, Indonesia by the Rumphius Biohistorical Expedition, comprising circa 40% of the known species of this family from the Indonesian archipelago. Seven of these could be traced to the figures given by Rumphius (1705) and an additional two, taking into account some reservations about the identity of Rumphius' depicted shells. This implies that all but one of Rumphius' species, viz. Tridacna (Tridacna) gigas (Linnaeus, 1758), have been reencountered by the present expedition. The expedition has yielded the first Indonesian published records of two species: Fulvia (Laevifulvia) lineonotata Vidal, 1994 and Acrosterigma dianthinum (Melvill & Standen, 1899). For the latter this implies a considerable range...

Report on a collection of Loricata from Manora Island, Karachi, with descriptions of three new species and a new variety Naturalis
Kaas, P..
In June 1951 Dr. A. R. Ranjha of the Zoological Survey Department, Government of Pakistan, at Karachi, sent me 26 samples of Loricata, together 46 specimens, preserved in 75% rectified spirit, all, except one, from the rockey beach of Manora Island, about two miles West off the Karachi coast, where they had been collected from the tidal area at low tide. The samples were taken at different dates and by several collectors or collecting parties. There are four species and one variety among the material, of which three species and the variety are supposed to be new. Chiton iatricus Winckworth, 1930 Winckworth, R., 1930. Molluscan radiations and landscape evolution in Miocene Amazonia Naturalis
Wesselingh, F.P..
This PhD study aims to exploit the rich archive provided by the Miocene mollusc fauna of the Pebas Formation and other inland Miocene Amazonian formations to reconstruct landscape evolution and biotic development in lowland Amazonia during the Neogene. Over 160 samples from more than 70 Pebas Formation outcrops mostly collected by the author were processed for this study. Additional samples were collected in Andean areas of Colombia and Venezuela and further material from other northwestern South American basins was studied in museums. Pebas Formation samples and well log data made available by Occidental Peru from three wells in the Marañon Basin in Peru were also investigated. During this study four genera and 74 species from the Pebas Formation have...

Records of new species of Duvaliidae Pavlow, 1914 Naturalis
Janssen, N.N.M..
Three new species of belemnite, Duvalia hispanica sp. nov. (late early Valanginian), Castellanibelus? bonti sp. nov. (earliest late Valanginian) and Pseudoduvalia nana sp. nov. (late Hauterivian), belonging to the family Duvaliidae Pavlow are described from sedimentary rocks in southeast Spain (Tornajo Mountain). Castellanibelus? bonti represents an unusual, very depressed species, whereas Pd. nana represents the smallest belemnite species so far described. These new species originate from outer platform deposits.

New records of Fungiacava eilatensis Goreau et al., 1968 (Bivalvia, Mytilidae) boring into Indonesian mushroom corals (Scleractinia, Fungiidae) Naturalis
Hoeksema, B.W.; Kleemann, K..
New observations on endoparasites in mushroom corals at South Sulawesi and Bali resulted in eight coral host records of the mytilid bivalve Fungiacava eilatensis Goreau et al., 1968, bringing the total to 14. The host corals were observed in various habitats, most frequently on sandy substrates. The largest numbers of parasitic bivalves (>10 individuals) were found in large attached mushroom coral hosts of the genus Podabacia.

Lorentz Spengler's descriptions of chitons (Mollusca: Polyplacophora) Naturalis
Kaas, P.; Knudsen, J..
The present paper deals with an important Danish paper on the Polyplacophora, published in 1797 by Lorentz Spengler: Udförlig Beskrivelse over det mangeskallede Konkylie-Slaegt, af Linnaeus kaldet Chiton; med endeel nye Arter og Varieteter. -Skrivter af Naturhistorie-Selskabet, 4e Bind, Ie Hefte, VI: 62-103, Tab. VI (Kiöbenhavn). In order to make this historical paper accessible to students of the group, a translation (by Dr J. Knudsen, with the assistance of the late Mrs A. Volsoe) of the original 18th century Danish text into modern English is here presented. A considerable part of the material in the "Museo Spengleriano", on which Spengler based his descriptions, is still extant, being held now in the Zoological Museum, University of Copenhagen. The...

On an aberrant Form of Truncatellina found in the Netherlands Naturalis
Bayer, Ch..
From Mr. Ph. van Hooven I received a Truncatellina, found by himself on October 22nd, 1934, near Katwijk aan Zee (South Holland), at the foot of the downs. Judging by the soft parts, still present in the shell, this little snail must either have been collected in the living state or shortly after its death, as it was in fresh and uninjured condition. Probably the specimen was living in the downs and washed down by the showers or blown by the winds to the shore. It was already known that Truncatellina was an inhabitant of our downs, as a worn specimen of Tr. cylindrica (Fér.) in the "Genist des Hochofen-Stichkanales bei IJmuiden" (North Holland) was found by Mr. H. Steusloff in 1926, though till now this little snail has never been found again. The specimen...

Beiträge zur Kenntnis der Pupillacea : XI. Speleodentorcula Beroni gen. & spec. nov. (Mollusca: Gastropoda: Orculidae) Aus einer Höhle in Euboea, Griechenland Naturalis
Gittenberger, E..
A new troglobitic genus and species, viz. Speleodentorcula beroni gen. & spec. nov., is described from the island of Euboea, Greece. The species, known from a single cave only, is quite isolated systematically. According to the structure of its shell and the genitalia S. beroni should be classified with the Orculidae. Within this family Speleodentorcula is most similar to Walklea anatomically; conchologically there is some vague resemblance to Fauxulus (apertural denticles) and Odontocyclas, Walklea, Fauxulus and Afriboysidia (surface sculpture). Speleodentorcula alone is considered the sister group of the taxon encompassing these last mentioned four genera.

Winter, A.J. de.
Four new taxa of slugs of the genera Arion and Deroceras are described, viz., Deroceras vascoana spec. nov., Arion (Kobeltia) fagophilus spec. nov. and Arion (Mesarion) urbiae spec. nov. from NW Spain, as well as Deroceras altimirai levisarcobelum subspec. nov. from the French Pyrenees. D. altimirai Altena is considered a polytypic species, with three subspecies, D. a. altimirai Altena, D. a. tarracense Altena and D. a. levisarcobelum subspec. nov. The nominate subspecies is reported from France for the first time. Arion (Kobeltia) anthracius Bourguignat is considered a valid species. Its genital anatomy is described for the first time from specimens collected some 60 km from the type locality. The study of topotypes is still necessary, as the type...
