Hydraulic and Geometrical Relationships of Lay-Flat Irrigation Tubing NWISRL
Humpherys, A.S.; Lauritzen, C.W..
Lay-flat tubing lies flat when empty like a deflated innertube section. The tubing is usually made from such materials as butyl rubber or plastic in which a supporting fabric is often built into the walls to impart additional strength.

Economic Decisions in Producing Irrigated Grain Sorghum on the Northern High Plains of Texas NWISRL
Wehrly, J.S.; Sletten, W.H.; Jensen, M.E..
American farmers have a wealth of research data available to them. Much of the data is concerned with technical problems of increasing yields, improving quality and reducing costs. In nearly all instances the improved practices can be applied by a farmer only at a cost. The farmer must decide if the improvement in output, quality or efficiency is enough to justify the extra cost, or more likely, must decide to what extent these practices should be applied. The extent to which any single agricultural input should be used cannot be determined without considering the use and effect of other inputs and the costs of all inputs and the price of the product. This publication is concerned with the amounts of nitrogen and irrigation water to use in...

Collemboles symphypléones du Surinam Naturalis
Delamare Deboutteville, Claude; Massoud, Zaher.

On some white-spored Geoglossaceae Naturalis
Maas Geesteranus, R.A..
Some genera of Geoglossaceae, characterized by colourless spores and positive iodine reaction of the ascus pore, are compared with respect to the structure of the stipe. Ochroglossum is reduced to the synonymy of Microglossum. Mitrula is regarded as a monotypic genus. The generic name Heyderia is restored. Thuemenidium is reintroduced to replace Corynetes. Nothomitra is proposed as a new genus to accomodate N. cinnamomea, a new species.

Further revisional notes on the Belonidae Naturalis
Mees, G.F..
INTRODUCTION In my recent revision of the Belonidae (Mees, 1962) a number of problems had to remain unsolved because of lack of material, and in particular because of a number of named forms the type specimens had not been available. The revision was called "preliminary" for that reason. Thanks to the co-operation of colleagues in several countries I have been able, on a round-the-world tour which lasted from February to August, 1962, to examine nearly all the types of what I had previously had to regard as species dubiae, and other type specimens, which show that in a few instances the synonymy presented in my paper is erroneous. A serious error in the key also became obvious (see under Belone punctulata). Though, inevitably, a few problems remain to be...

Sur deux espèces D'anthessius (Copepoda) des Indes Orientales Naturalis
Stock, J.H..

On two new species of Holectypus Desor from the Senonian of South-Limburg near Maastricht, Netherlands Naturalis
Engel, H..
Up to now the genus Holectypus Desor (1842, p. 52) 1847, (cf. Mortensen, 1948, Monogr. IV 1, p. 26) in its restricted sense (with 4 genital pores) has not been recorded from the Senonian. So the two specimens described below as H. boschmai nov. spec. may have been remaniated and finally deposited in the Senonian of South-Limburg. They then may belong to the Jurassic species H. corallinus d'Orbigny, 1850. Though the preservation of two other specimens of Holectypus from the Limburg Senonian does not permit to decide whether a fifth genital pore is present, it is presumed there was. These two specimens are described as H. macrostomus nov. spec. As said, up to now no Senonian Holectypus is known with 4 genital pores. Holectypus boschmai nov. spec. (pl. XIV)...

Vannerom, H..
In the northern part of Belgium, Dryopteris tavelii is mostly found in young plantations of Pinus in the Campine and Flemish districts. As some of these localities are situated near the Dutch border, the author expects that the species may also occur in similar habitats in the Netherlands parts of these districts.

Über die Zerreissung der Nabelschnur des Schafes Naturalis
Naaktgeboren, C.; Witmond, A.P.M..
An...

Capparis Cleghornii Dunn, a species from Southern India (Capparaceae) Naturalis
Rao, Rolla S.; Raghavan, R. Sundara.
Among recent collections from the evergreen forests of Mysore State in southern India, material was found of Capparis cleghornii Dunn which had only been known from the original collection made by Cleghorn in 1846 and from a Stocks specimen from “Kanara”. Further scrutiny of fresh collections from the type locality established the identity. Mr M. Jacobs of the Rijksherbarium, Leyden, who is engaged in a study of die genus, informed us that little material was known and that he never had seen a fruit. The original description by Dunn is quite brief. A more detailed description is given below, based on living material which accounts for the larger sizes of the parts than are found in dried specimens. A considerable amount of collections have been made and a...

Polygonum maritimum L. in Nederland Naturalis
Beeftink, W.G..
The discovery in 1962 of a single specimen of Polygonum maritimum L. on drift material washed ashore at the north coast of the isle of Noord-Beveland gives rise to a discussion of its taxonomical, geographical and ecological characteristics. The species has never been found in the Netherlands before. An enumeration of the taxonomical features of P. maritimum and a comparison with those of P. aviculare L. agg. and of the allied taxa P. raii Babingt. and P. oxyspermum Mey. & Bge. is given. The mediterranean-atlantic species P. maritimum reaches its north-eastern limit on the continent in the French counties Manche and Calvados, in England in the counties Somerset and Hampshire. Thus the locality in the Netherlands is situated about 400 km north-east of...

Wiebes, J.T.; Wiebes - Rijks, A.A..

Additions to the Aphid fauna of North East India Naturalis
Ray Chaudhuri, D.N.; Ghosh, A.K..
Since 1896, about seventy-two species of aphids have been described from this part of India by different workers. The species so far described are distributed over about forty-two genera. The present paper brings the number of species to seventy-four and that of the genera to forty-three. Lachnus titabarensis nov. spec. Apterous viviparous female. — Body pyriform, about 2.4 to 2.6 mm long, with about 1.3 to 1.5 mm as maximum width. Abdominal tergites brownish, wrinkled, with a row of small pleural patches on either side; base of siphunculus surrounded by a large brownish patch. Hairs on the dorsum of the abdomen on small circular sclerites (mostly broken), stout; most of the hairs with long acute apices, a few with acuminate apices; the shorter ones...
