| RESUMO Objetivou-se com o presente trabalho avaliar a eficiência agronômica e biológica dos consórcios de mamoneira com feijão-caupi ou milho. As pesquisas foram desenvolvidas na Fazenda Experimental Lavoura Seca, da Universidade Federal do Ceará, em Quixadá-CE. Foram avaliados os consórcios entre plantas de mamoneira cv. BRS Energia com feijão-caupi cv. Setentão (I) ou com milho cv. BRS 206 (II). | In the scenario of renewable energy, Brazil has an important role, especially the biodiesel production chain that is growing, but its feasibility depends on the source material still adequate. An alternative source material is the crambe (Crambe abyssinica Hochst), but little is known about this culture. Thus was determined the survey of the diseases that may limit production in western Paraná. | La Jatrofa o piñón (Jatropha curcas L.) es una planta oleaginosa que ha adquirido importancia en Colombia por su alta producción y calidad de aceite para biocombustibles, despertando el interés en la investigación de su fisiología y desempeño productivo. | O uso de energias renováveis aliadas à preservação do meio ambiente tem despertado interesse cada vez maior em nível nacional e internacional principalmente a utilização do biodiesel em substituição ao diesel de petróleo. Sua utilização traz uma série de vantagens sociais, econômicas e ambientais. Nos últimos anos, houve no Brasil um aumento nas pesquisas sobre o biodiesel. A lei brasileira nº 11.097 de 2005 dispõe sobre a introdução do biodiesel na matriz energética brasileira, misturado ao óleo diesel em um percentual mínimo obrigatório de 2%, com aumento na adição para 5% até 2012. | Se evaluó la producción de lípidos totales en cinco especies de microalgas inducidas por la ausencia de nitrógeno. Las microalgas empleadas fueron Ankistrodesmus sp., Ankistrodesmus nannoselene, Chlorella sp., Scenedesmus sp. y Scenedesmus quadricauda. Estas especies fueron cultivadas en medio CHU10 con y sin nitrógeno. El tiempo de evaluación fue de seis días, determinándose diariamente la densidad microalgal mediante recuento en cámara de Neubahuer. Se determinó la tasa de crecimiento, la biomasa microalgal y el porcentaje de lípidos totales. Los lípidos totales fueron extraídos con solución Cloroformo:metanol (2:1). | Babassu is a highly productive oil plant that is propagated from seed. Therefore, tissue culture techniques are of great importance because propagation is accelerated. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of growth regulators, NAA, BAP, and KIN, on in vitro germination and on the growth of babassu zygotic embryos. Three trials were conducted. | Tranesterification reaction was carried out on raw Shea Butter Oil (SBO) and Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) to separate the ester from glycerol using ethanol in the presence of potassium hydroxide as catalyst. The properties of biodiesel (ethyl ester) obtained from varying proportions of diesel were experimentally determined and compared with that of conventional diesel. In this research chicken and guinea fowl wastes eggshell were used as feedstock for the producing heterogeneous catalyst for production of biodiesel. It is, however, desirable to increase the amount of renewables in the transport sector; therefore blending with a higher biogenic fuel content is of interest. Blending of fuels can lead to chemical reactions between fuel components and may result in undesired products. | En el Instituto Federal del estado de Bahía, ciudad de Senhor do Bonfim, al nordeste del Brasil se realizó un estudio de verificación de estrés salino del arbusto ricino (Ricinus communis L.), cv. BRS Energía. | Contents of proteins, carbohydrates and oil of seeds of 57 individuals of Vochysiaceae, involving one species of Callisthene, six of Qualea, one of Salvertia and eight of Vochysia were determined. The main nutritional reserves of Vochysiaceae seeds are proteins (20% in average) and oils (21. 6%). Mean of carbohydrate contents was 5. 8%. Callisthene showed the lowest protein content (16. 9%), while Q. cordata was the species with the highest content (30% in average). | The purpose of the present study was to estimate emissions of some pollutants (CO, NOX, HC, SOX, and PM) in diesel fleet due to the addition of biodiesel in different blends, as well as to assess atmospheric pollutant concentrations in the metropolitan area of Porto Alegre (MAPA). The methodology was based on inventories from mobile sources based on US EPA's technical report.
