Comparative Selectivity of Herbicides Used in Wheat Crop on the Predators Chrysoperla externa and Eriopis connexa Planta Daninha

ABSTRACT: The selectivity of eight herbicides registered for use in the wheat crop was assessed on the predators Chrysoperla externa and Eriopis connexa. Bioassays were conducted in the laboratory by exposing larvae, eggs, and pupae of these predators to dry residues of the herbicides 2,4-D amine, bentazon, glyphosate 1.200, glyphosate 1.440, ammonium glufosinate, iodosulfuron-methyl, metsulfuron-methyl, and pyrimidinedione. The herbicide ammonium glufosinate was classified as moderately harmful (class 3) to the larval stage of both predators. ABSTRACT: Horseweed is an annual cycle weed naturally controlled by the herbicide glyphosate. However, the continued use of this product has selected tolerant and resistant populations. The objective of this study is to analyze the occurrence of horseweed biotypes with a low glyphosate susceptibility in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul. Seeds of horseweed plants (Conyzaspp.) that survived glyphosate applications were collected in RR soybean crops, totaling 137 samples from 37 municipalities. Irrigated rice sowing season and red rice competition are among the main factors affecting grain yield. The objective of this work was to evaluate the sowing date of irrigated rice and moments of application of the herbicide imazapyr + imazapic to control red rice management and irrigated rice grain yield. Eight experiments were performed at the following dates (09/30, 10/19, 11/08 and 12/01) for the 2010/2011 harvest season and (09/27, 10/17, 11/08 and 12/05) for the 2011/2012 harvest season.
