The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of delayed storage on the maintenance of the quality and on the control of pulp browning during cold storage of late peach cultivars. The fruit was harvested at the mature-green stage. All cultivars were exposed to temperatures of 20 ± 0.5ºC and 75 ± 3% of moisture in a cold room for 0.24, or 48 hours. Afterwards, the peaches were kept at 0 ± 0.5ºC and 92 ± 3% of R.H. for 28 days. In the end, the yellow pulp cultivars, regardless of temperature and length of delayed storage, did not present signs of internal browning and were of adequate quality for commercialization. Objetivou-se com o presente trabalho estudar a perda de viabilidade das sementes de duas variedades de Vigna unguiculata, acondicionadas em embalagens de papel e recipiente metálico, armazenados em ambiente não controlado. Após a colheita das sementes, em campos preparados para esta finalidade, as mesmas foram beneficiadas manualmente, tratadas, acondicionadas e armazenadas, para que a cada dois meses fossem avaliadas quanto a sua qualidade fisiológica mediante teste de germinação, indicando a melhor capacidade armazenadora para a condição do estudo. The objective of this research was to determine the deterioration rate of BRS 208 and CD 104 wheat cultivar seeds, treated with fungicides, by applying the viability equation. Seeds were stored in conventional warehouses in Mauá da Serra and Londrina, in the State of Paraná, Brazil. Four seed lots were divided into four replications, half being treated with Carboxin + Thiran and the other half taken as controls, without treatment, and these were stored for 300 days. Macauba fruits are oil-rich drupes with high moisture content at harvest. This feature can affect the chemical properties of the oil and increase the costs of biodiesel production. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt postharvest strategies to ensure oil quality. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of drying macauba fruit on the quality of the pulp oil. Husked and dehusked fruits were dried at 60°C and then stored. At 0, 15, 45, 100, and 180 days after storage, fruit samples were retrieved, and the oil from the pulp was evaluated for physicochemical parameters. A técnica de hidratação controlada de sementes vem sendo utilizada como método de condicionamento fisiológico, tanto para sementes deterioradas como para sementes altamente sensíveis à embebição rápida, ou a interação entre ambas, objetivando melhorar o desempenho destas no campo. This study was developed to evaluate the effect of adding natural pigments on the storage of eggs from laying hens in the second production cycle submitted to diets based on corn and low-tannin sorghum. Most of the world's consumers have used the natural coatings instead of chemical coatings. In this research, some quality properties of Thomson orange were evaluated using Chitosan edible coating (at concentrations of 0.5, 1 and 2%) and chemical coating of fungicide (Ortho Phenyl Phenol) as compared to uncoated samples during storage for three months. Fruit were maintained in cold storage at 6 °C temperature and 85-90% relative humidity, then pH, total soluble solid (TSS) of orange juice and percentage of fruit weight loss were measured during storage every month. The comparative analysis of the effect of hermetic storage models on the quality of soybean seeds was studied. Freshly harvested soybean pods were depodded and the seeds were sundried at 330C temperature with an average relative humidity of 62% for three days. The change in quality of wheat grains in terms of physical parameters (moisture, test weight, 1000 grain weight and insect damage), chemical parameters (protein, fat, ash and starch) and flour quality tests (falling number, water absorption, dough development time and dough stability) were observed during storage in conventional structures (earthen bin, metal bin, bulk covered and room store) for 12 months. This study assessed the nutritional quality attributes of maize (Zea mays) stored in metallic silos for a period of eight months in the humid tropics of Nigeria. The nutritional properties (NP) evaluated are percentage ash content (AC), crude fibre (CF), crude protein (CP), carbohydrate content (CHO), fat content (FC), and energy value (EV). The leaves of Mikania laevigata and Mikania glomerata are used in Brazil to treat respiratory affections, being kaurane-type diterpenes and coumarin considered as the bioactive compounds. The present study reports an investigation on the HPLC-DAD profiles and contents of coumarin (1), trans-o-coumaric (2), kaurenoic (3), benzoylgrandifloric (4) and cinnamoylgrandifloric (5) acids in dried leaves of Mikania species stored in dark room under controlled conditions. ABSTRACT Chicken meat in two different forms (chicken meat and chicken meat powder) were added into white flour and whole wheat blend baguette bread formulations for protein enrichment and finally developing new and healthy snacks. The chicken meat and powder levels were 10% for white flour baguette, and 15% for whole wheat blend. The dried baguette samples were packaged under 100% N2, and physical, chemical, microbiological and sensorial properties were evaluated during 3 months of storage.
