| La maîtrise de l’état sanitaire des porcs élevés en Agriculture Biologique passe avant tout par la prévention des maladies et la gestion du parasitisme. | The Spanish Society of Ecological Agriculture (SEAE)celebrates every two years, since 1994, its scientific-technical congresses, in which they share and debate among the interested parties (researchers, advisors, farmers, processors, etc) the results of their research, and recent innovations that favor the development of the sector. This creates a space of singular dialogue where the agents of the ecological production chain are inspired to generate new ideas. Twelve years ago this exchange forum was also extended to the Ibero-American sphere. Since the previous edition, the SEAE also combines the celebration of this congress with its General Assembly and with the Eco-e-Labora Awards for the generation and management of agroecological knowledge. |

| In organic farming the copper compounds are the only substances that can be used against downy mildew. As the copper causes problems of environmental impact, the Regulation EC n. 473/2002 fixed a ceiling on its use. Two-years experimental trials (2007-2008) were carried out in organic vineyard in order to evaluate anti-downy mildew effectiveness of natural products. Homeopathic products, resistance promoters, plant extracts and potassium bicarbonate have been tested. In 2007, a year of limited infection pressure, these products were able to control the disease, whereas in 2008, a year of high risk of disease, the natural products were scarsely effective. | A conference for organic producers to debate the future development and direction of the UK organic sector. Over two days at the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester some 170 delegates set about analysing the state of their movement and plotted a remedial course. In doing so a new mood of optimism was tangible.
