| Le projet de développement d'un réseau instrumenté de surveillance de l'environnement littoral correspond à une nécessité d'observations, sur de longues séries temporelles, et de mesures à des fréquences élevées. Il est le résultat d'une analyse des besoins des différents types d'utilisations. Il est l'occasion de coopération entre des scientifiques et des industriels pour développer un réseau de stations instrumentées multiparamètres transmettant les données par satellite vers une station de traitement des données et de diffusion de celles-ci par réseau informatisé. |

| In 1985, twenty discolored waters have been observed with dinoflagellates as the most frequently encountered group. Shellfishes mortalities due to occurence of Gyrodinium spirale were observed in Etang de Thau. Likewise, the growth of molluscs juveniles was inhibited by a bloom of Gyrodinium aureolum (Tinduff area). At last, development of Dinophysis cf. acuminata in some coastal areas has caused provisional prohibition of shellfishes selling. However, economic consequences were less important than in 1984 and particularly with regard to 1983. |

| Consequences of drought and canicule during the summer of 1976 are related. An analysis allow as to mark out five main districts : Charente, Seudre, North, South and Center of the bassin, each of them with distinctive hydrological and phytoplaktonic characteristics. The rivers Charente and Seudre are particulary eutrophic and any great quantities of nitrates, phosphates and silicates. Eutrophic evaluation of the river Seudre is studied, as well as oyster mortalities that resulted. Reproduction and settlement of spat oysters are related to the hydrology of each distric. |

| Growth of the japanese oyster, Crassostrea gigas was monitored during 4 years, by following the recruitment of the year 1978, held in rearing conditions. After three and half years, the average length was la cm and the average total weight was 80 g. Clear seasonal changes were observed on the growth in length and weight. An important loss in dry weight occured in July, during the release of gametes. Such losses constituted 29 %, 43 % and 60 % of the dry weight, respectively for individuals which were 2 years, 3 years and 4 years old. | Three oyster samplers, collected in 1976, 77 and 78 have beer grown, each one after 3 differents densities in order to determine the influence of the load of breeding over growth and improvement of quality of oysters. The results show that quality of oysters is rapidly altered when the density of breeding increases and that gametogenesis physiolical prevails over growth, particularly for older oyster. A variation of the date of "détroquage" (oysters off supports that collect spat) will be determined, according to spat collecting and speed of spat growth. We are here suggesting a "production"coefficient. |

| In summer 1979, the natural reproduction of oysters Crassostrea gigas Thunberg, in Marennes-Oleron basin, produced a large number of juveniles which was not the case in summer 1981. If one compares the evolution of the main constituents of the flesh, one can see that, at the beginning of August, before spawning the male oysters in 1981 contained 6,3% less proteins, 34,2% less lipids and 61,2% less glucids than those in 1979 and respectively 12,3%, 21,3% and 69,8% less as far as females are concerned. The energetic value of ash-free dry flesh of female oysters is nearly the same for the two years whereas for male oysters the value is slightly lower in 1981 than in 1979. | Discolored waters and human diseases by shellfishes were dominant features of summer 1983 in south coast of Brittany. Vilaine Bay, the most damaged area, was successively affected by brown waters in early June, and diarrhetic intoxications by harvested mussels (July and August), just as DPS producing dinoflagellate (D. acuminata ) reached higher water or mussel guts concentrations than years before. Outspreading in the whole south coast of Brittany and possible relation with hydrological or biological parameters are analyzed. |
