| Avec le doublement de l'effectif des chalutiers entre 1984 et 1987, la flottille des navires de pêche industrielle de Saint-Pierre et Miquelon est actuellement composée de six unités, cinq chalutiers de pêche fraîche et un congélateur. Les analyses conduites sur les données de 1986 ont montré que cette flottille était très homogène tant en référence aux caractéristiques techniques et à la pui ssance de pêche des navires qu'en terme de stratégie d'exploitation (zones de pêche, espèces recherchées). | One of the primary uses of trawl survey data is the estimation of abundance of the species involved. But these direct estimates give results with generally a high variability. Reducing this latter is one of the main problems for the scientists involved in such a research. Methods to achieve a better efficiency have been implemented. | The laying out of an offshore site in the gulf of Lion has been realized by immersion of concrete structures in 1985. Two complementary studies have been conducted in order to estimate the impact of such artificiel reef. Gillnet fishery surveys have been done in the vicinity of the structures and also on a control site. Moreover the local profcssional fishery has been investigated for two periods of 16 months, one berore and one arter the reef immersion. This study aimed to assess the contamination by kepone of the two main species Panulirus argus and P. guttatus in the main fishery area laying along the eastern coast of Martinique. | The results of a survey on fishers' perceptions of recent changes in the eastern English Channel ecosystem carried out in 2006 were compared with fishery and bottom-trawl survey data. A hypothesis-testing framework was used, testing the null hypothesis that fishers' statements were true, which permitted evaluation of both agreement and disagreement. Overall good agreement between fishers' statements and scientific data was found, and both sources suggested that the fish community in the Channel is undergoing large changes, among which are decreases in some commercially important species; in addition, a number of human pressures impact the ecosystem. | Depuis une vingtaine d'années, l'Ifremer organise des campagnes de pêche scientifique en mer du Nord, Manche, Atlantique et Méditerranée concernant les ressources pélagiques, démersales et benthiques. L'objectif prioritaire est de produire des indices d'abondance des principales espèces commerciales. Elles recueillent également des données sur les espèces capturées non commerciales. Les campagnes sont réalisées selon des plans d'échantillonnage standardisés. L'engin de pêche et son gréement, la position des stations, le tri des captures, les prélèvements biologiques suivent des protocoles fixés. | The follow-up of the activity of the boats practising offshore fishing in the North-West of the La Réunion Cbaies of the Possession and Paul Saint) was carried out over one year(April 86 - March 87) thanks to the application of a strategy of sampling allowing the collection of the following statistics: total effort and by machine, captures total and by species.The study allowed a first approach of the space-time distribution of the activity of the fleet. It reveals the very high participation of the yachtmen in the halieutic exploitation of the studied sector. | The integration of fishing management into the ecosystemic approach has been recommended for many years by international consultative bodies; it is also written into international conventions and agreements. The implementation of the ecosystemic approach involves the development of programmes for monitoring exploited ecosystems in order to measure the effects of management steps.
