Discondroplasia tibial: mecanismos de lesão e controle Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Avic.
Pizauro Junior,JM; Ciancaglini,P; Macari,M.

Experimental Study on the Geometrical and Mechanical Properties of Goose Eggshells Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Avic.
Zhang,J; Peng,W; Tang,W; Wang,M.
ABSTRACT This paper examined the properties of goose eggshells to determine possible areas of improvement in egg transport and storage. First, we measured goose egg sizes and performed statistical tests, and found that the major axis, minor axis, and egg-shape index presented normal distribution. Eggshell thickness first increased and then decreased from the blunt end to the sharp end. Second, the shape of individual goose eggshell was measured using a 3D scanner. Volume equation, surface equation, and contour function of goose eggshell shape were obtained, exhibiting a highly symmetrical structure. Finally, goose eggs were compressed along their major and minor axes between two plates. Breaking strength was highly dependent on the shape index. A crack was...

Relationship between color and tannin content in sorghum grain: application of image analysis and artificial neural network Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Avic.
Sedghi,M; Golian,A; Soleimani-Roodi,P; Ahmadi,A; Aami-Azghadi,M.
The relationship between sorghum grain color and tannin content was reported in several references. In this study, 33 phenotypes of sorghum grain differing in seed characteristics were collected and analyzed by Folin-Ciocalteu method. A computer image analysis method was used to determine the color characteristics of all 33 sorghum phenotypes. Two methods of multiple linear regression and artificial neural network (ANN) models were developed to describe tannin content in sorghum grain from three input parameters of color characteristics. The goodness of fit of the models was tested using R², MS error, and bias. The computer image analysis technique was a suitable method to estimate tannin through sorghum grain color strength. Therefore, the color quality...
