| ABSTRACT This study aimed to present a solution in glued laminated timber to replace frame structures built in reinforced concrete and metallic structure, which are common in agricultural buildings in western Paraná such as those destined to laying poultry house building by agricultural cooperatives. Structural behavior of frames build from Araucaria angustifolia glued boards and vegetable oil-based polyurethane adhesive was evaluated. | O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar a regeneração natural e a abundância de espécies exóticas no sub-bosque de um plantio experimental de Araucaria angustifolia, em Viçosa, MG. A amostra correspondeu a 40 parcelas de 2 m x 2 m, onde mediu-se o diâmetro ao nível do solo (DNS) de todos os indivíduos arbustivo-arbóreos com diâmetro ≤ a 5,0 cm e altura ≥ a 0,5 m. Foram calculados os parâmetros fitossociológicos e os índices de diversidade e equabilidade. As espécies foram classificadas quanto à forma de vida, classe sucessional e síndrome de dispersão. | A Floresta Ombrófila Mista é considerada uma das principais formações do bioma Mata Atlântica. Apesar de sua importância, existe uma carência de informações sobre a dinâmica de crescimento de espécies dessa tipologia florestal. O presente estudo foi desenvolvido com o objetivo de estimar o crescimento passado de espécies arbóreas de Floresta Ombrófila Mista. Foram realizadas avaliações dendrocronológicas não destrutivas nas espécies Araucaria angustifolia, Ocotea porosa, Ilex paraguariensis, Cedrela fissilis, Ocotea puberula e Ocotea pulchella. | O objetivo deste trabalho foi calcular o quociente de Liocourt e avaliar a distribuição diamétrica em floresta natural com 84 hectares de Araucaria angustifolia, servindo de parâmetro para o seu manejo em propriedade rural com 176 hectares, localizada na Fazenda Pedras Brancas, Lages, SC, visando atingir o conceito de floresta balanceada. A distribuição diamétrica comportou-se como o esperado para florestas nativas, gerando uma curva de distribuição em J-invertido, demonstrando tratar-se de uma floresta não balanceada em fase de sucessão, por apresentar déficit de árvores nas maiores classes diamétricas. | This study describes the initial measures taken to reconstitute the forest cover in a burned area of Araucaria Forest by means of planting seeds and seedlings of Araucaria angustifolia (parana pine) and Ocotea porosa (imbuia). The study area is located at the Experimental Station of Caçador, in Caçador, State of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Species were systematically arranged in lines and rows over the experimental area and a spacing of 5 x 5 m between trees belonging to the same species was adopted. | Immature and mature leaves of juvenile and adult plants of Araucaria angustifolia (Araucariaceae) were observed with the objective of updating the morphoanatomical data of the leaves of this species, which were restricted to basic descriptions in previous studies. The observations, made in optical allowed to establish anatomical differences among mature leaves of juvenile and adult plants in relation to the number of palisade parenchimal layers, the number of compartmented cells and the transfusion tissue development. | A Floresta Ombrófila Mista (FOM) ou Floresta com Araucária, que ocorre em regiões de clima sazonal, com baixas temperaturas e ocorrência de geadas, cobria 40% do Estado do Paraná. Hoje, resta menos de 1% dessa formação florestal em estádio sucessional avançado e bem conservado. O presente trabalho apresenta os padrões fenológicos reprodutivos (floração e frutificação) das espécies, presentes em fragmentos de FOM localizados em três municípios paranaenses, visando subsidiar ações de restauração.
