The article deals in brief with results of hydrophysical and hydrobiological researches, primarily in the south-western sector of the south-Atlantic anticyclonic circulation. Against a background of the general description of the structure and dynamics of water masses of the region a series of biological indices: bioluminescence, primary production, the number of bacteria and microzooplankton are characterized as dependent on the structure and dynamics. Some experimental results on nutrition, growth and fecundity of copepods are given. |
