Data is given on dynamics of erythropoietic function in fishes with different levels of natural mobility (Trachurus mediterraneus ponticus A., Mullus barbatus ponticus L.) in a cruising regime of swimming (the scad 1.1 m/sec, the red mullet - 0.85 m/sec). It is demonstrated that absolute values of the erythropoietic function are higher in the red mullet than in the scad due to different specialization in the redistribution function of blood and in the end due to difference in the level of natural mobility. The general picture of erythropoiesis in the two species corresponds to phases of Selye's generalized adaptation syndrome. The response to a sharp change in muscle loading is of positive character.
