For the first time acute phenol toxicity is studied for certain of microalgae, some classes of the Black sea invertebrate Crustacea, Polychaeta and Turbellaria (lethal concentration zones and LC - 50 values are determined and external intoxication signs are described). Acute phenol toxicity for certain Black sea fishes is first stated. Specific intoxication pattern is described. Pathological and morphological changes in fishes under phenol effect are studied. The character of specific phenol effect on the fish embryonic development (Pleuronectidae-Rhombus maeoticus) is also stated. The data obtained show high phenol toxicity for sea hydrobionts and the need for a further study of this toxicant effect on various levels of marine biota organization.
