| A 49-month-old Holstein cow with anorexia, tachypnea, enlarged peripheral lymph nodes, and difficulty standing up was suspected of bovine leukosis. Hematological examination revealed lymphocytosis with the presence of neoplastic cells. Increased total lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity, isozymes of LDH-2 and LDH-3 activities and thymidine kinase activity were observed. Cytological findings of fine needle aspiration of subiliac lymph nodes indicated lymphosarcoma. Histopathology and antibody analysis confirmed the diagnosis of enzootic bovine leukosis, a B-cell bovine lymphoma caused by bovine leukemia virus. | 脊髄造影後の後遺障害発生のメカニズムについて、脊髄終末が犬より尾側に位置するウサギを用いて、行動観察、神経学的および病理組織学的に検討した。実験にはウサギ（n=12）を使用し、実験群は、(1)脊髄穿刺群、(2)生理的食塩水注入群、(3)等浸透圧ヨード造影剤イオジキサノール注入群、(4)低浸透圧ヨード造影剤イオヘキソール注入群とした。全身麻酔下で第5-6腰椎間より脊髄穿刺あるいは薬液を脊髄実質内に直接注入し、処置48時間後に行動観察および神経学的検査を、72時間後に病理組織学的検査を行うとともに、切片上での損傷面積率について評価した。神経学的検査では生理的食塩水注入群、イオジキサノール注入群およびイオヘキソール注入群で異常が認められた。また、穿刺部位の脊髄損傷面積率についても脊髄穿刺群と生理的食塩水注入群との間に明らかな差異が認められた。本研究の結果から、脊髄への薬液注入による組織の圧迫は、脊髄造影後の後遺障害を発生させる要因と考えられた。今後、脊髄造影を行う際には、脊髄針からの脳脊髄液の逆流を必ず確認し、造影剤の実質内注入を疑った場合には直ちに検査を中止することを提案する。なお、将来は獣医臨床における、より安全な脊髄造影手技の開発が望まれる。 The purpose of this experiment is to characterize the aftereffects of myelography of canine spinal cords using rabbits，since the distal end of the spinal cord of rabbits is more caudal than that of dogs. | 5歳6カ月齢のホルスタイン種乳牛が鼻出血，眼球突出および黒色便を呈したため，地方病性牛白血病を疑った．し かし，生前の臨床検査では牛白血病の確定診断はできず，病理組織学的検査により鼻腔内骨肉腫と診断された．本症例では，明瞭な呼吸器症状や顔面の変形といった鼻腔内腫瘍を疑わせる所見が乏しく，生前診断が困難であった． Enzootic bovine leukosis was suspected in a Holstein cow aged 5-years and 6-months, as it displayed symptoms of epistaxis, proptosis, and melena. However, clinicopathological findings failed to confirm a diagnosis of bovine leukosis, and histopathological findings revealed a nasal osteosarcoma. As the case lacked typical findings of nasal tumor such as sneezing and facial deformity, a nasal tumor diagnosis would have been difficult. |

| A 2-month-old male Holstein calf showed clinical signs of abdominal bloating, melena, and pain and was suspected of having a perforating abomasal ulcer. Necropsy revealed a large mass located preferentially around the abomasum and a large perforating abomasal ulcer on the pyloric antrum. Milky white masses of various sizes were also found in the abdominal cavity that consisted of agglutinated nodules ranging in size from a pinhead to a golf ball and were distributed on the surfaces of the liver, reticulum, omasum, abomasum, and diaphragm. | 17日齢のホルスタイン種雌子牛が，神経症状を示した. 病畜は頭部を左後方に折り曲げて伏臥姿勢を示し，時折自力で起立したがすぐに倒れ歩行不能であった. 神経学的検査では右の対光反射，威嚇瞬き反射，眼瞼反射， および音響耳介反射が消失していた. ビタミンB1，およびデキサメサゾンの投与により第7病日に歩行可能となったものの左への斜頸・旋回が認められ，神経学的検査所見に改善は認められなかった. 第7病日に病理解剖を行い，肉眼的には橋の断面右側に直径1cm大の膿瘍を認め，嫌気培養にてFusobacterium necrophorumが検出された. 左側への斜頸，聴覚の消失等の脳神経疾状は，橋の右側の膿瘍により内耳神経等の脳神経核が圧迫された結果出現した聴覚障害，平衡障害のためと考えられた. | 19歳齢のペルシュロン種繁殖雌馬に血尿が認められた。血尿は止血剤および抗生剤投与によっては改善され なかった。患畜は次第に元気食欲の低下、削痩、貧血を呈し、高度蛋白尿および胸前部冷性浮腫が発現した。 直腸検査により人頭大に腫大した左腎を触知し、腎臓腫瘍を疑った。病理解剖の結果、左腎は27X18Xl0cmに 腫大し、血液に富む巨大な腫瘤形成(13X8X8cm)を認めた。左腎門リンパ節は腫大し、また右腎臓、左右 副腎、肝臓および肺では大小の白色腫瘤を認めた。病理組織学的検査によりこれらの腫瘍はいずれも浸潤性に 増殖する上皮性腫瘍組織であったことから、本症例は腎細胞癌が他の複数の臓器に転移したものと考察した。 |

| 放牧中のl歳7カ月齢ホルスタイン種育成午が、発熱、頻脈、心音強勢、収縮期雑音、頚静脈怒張、肺音粗 励、右後肢跛行の症状を呈した。心臓超音波検査により肺動脈弁に付着する疣贅物、心室中隔欠損、大動脈騎 乗などの所見が得られた。病理解剖検査では、これらの所見のほかに右後肢の関節炎が確認され、心室中隔欠 損と大動脈騎乗の心奇形個体に関節炎由来の細菌性心内膜炎を併発したものと考えられた。肺動脈弁の疣贅物からは嫌気培養によりPeptostreptococcus anaerobiusが分離された。 |

| 2歳5カ月齢ホルスタイン雌乳牛が胸垂冷性浮腫，頸静脈拍動を呈し，心音聴取困難および心電図各波低電位所見から拡張型心筋症が疑われた．右胸腔には赤色変性性漏出液が多量に貯留しており，また超音波検査により心嚢水貯留を認めた．病理解剖の結果，心嚢は直径60cm大に腫大して血様心嚢水の貯留を認めたが，炎症あるいは腫瘍は認められず，血様心嚢水貯留の原因については不明であった．ただし右肩部に壊死巣を認めたことから，転倒等胸腔に強い衝撃を受けた可能性があると考えられた．心嚢水貯留が認められる場合には，心嚢腔内への出血も考慮すべき疾病のひとつであることが考えられた． A Holstein cow (two years and five months old) with jugular vein distension and non-inflammatory edema in the brisket showed decreased heart sound and abnormal waves on an electrocardiogram. | An 8-month-old Holstein heifer with cervical enlargement was suspected of thymic lymphosarcoma given clinical signs of depression, tendency to lie down, cervical mass, jugular vein distension, conjunctival hyperemia, and ruminal tympany. Unilateral Horner’s syndrome was also observed. Increased serum total lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), LDH isozyme (LDH-2, and LDH-3) and serum thymidine kinase activity were observed.
