WEED INCIDENCE AFTER SOYBEAN HARVEST IN NO-TILL AND CONVENTIONAL TILLAGE CROPROTATION SYSTEMS IN RORAIMA’S CERRADO Planta Daninha
ALBUQUERQUE,J.A.A.; SANTOS,T.S.; CASTRO,T.S.; MELO,V.F.; ROCHA,P.R.R..
ABSTRACT The goal of this study was to evaluate the occurrence of weeds after soybean harvest in rotational systems of no-till and conventional tillage in the savannah of Roraima, Brazil. Two simultaneous experiments were conducted in adjacent areas, the first one with no-till soil management system and the second one with the conventional system, with crop rotations for five agricultural years: pearlmillet (2007/2008), soybean (2008/2009), maize (2009/2010), cowpea with maize (2010/2011), soybean (2011/2012) and maize (2012/2013). The used experimental design was the randomized block one with 28 plots, sized 3 x 15 m (45 m2) distributed in 4 blocks. In May 2010, the combined sowing of cowpea and maize was performed, and later, during the same month of...

Weed Interference in Semi-Erect and Semi-Prostate Cowpea Cultivars Planta Daninha
CASTRO,T.S.; ROCHA,P.R.R.; BARRETO,G.F.; MAIA,S.S.; ALBUQUERQUE,J.A.A.; ALVES,J.M.A..
ABSTRACT: This study aimed to determine weed interference periods in semi-erect and semi-prostrate cowpea cultivars. Two simultaneous experiments were conducted with the cowpea cultivars BRS Guariba (semi-erect) and BRS Aracê (semi-prostrate). The experimental design was a randomized block design with four replications in a 7 × 2 factorial scheme, seven periods × two weed management (control and coexistence). Control and coexistence periods consisted of 0, 0-8, 0-16, 0-24, 0-32, 0-45, and 0-60 days after emergence (DAE) for the semi-erect cultivar and 0, 0-8, 0-16, 0-24, 0-32, 0-45, and 0-64 DAE for the semi-prostrate cultivar. Competition throughout the cycle reduced productivity by up to 39.81% for BRS Guariba and 37.27% for BRS Aracê. The cultivars BRS...

Weed Community in a Raw Sugarcane Renovation Area Submitted to Different Soil Managements Planta Daninha
SOARES,M.B.B.; BIANCO,S.; FINOTO,E.L.; BOLONHEZI,D.; ALBUQUERQUE,J.A.A.; SILVA,A.A..
The objective of this study was to evaluate the weed community in a raw sugarcane renovation area with three soil managements and peanut sowing in succession. The experiment was conducted during the 2007/08 season on a raw sugarcane area harvested without prior burning in the last five cuts. A randomized block design with treatments arranged in a split plot and arranged in four replications was used. The main treatments consisted of three cropping systems: conventional tillage, minimum tillage and direct planting, and subplots consisted in the absence (resting) or presence of crop rotation with peanuts. After 135 days from planting peanuts and 180 days of sugarcane harvest, the number of weeds m-2 was counted and the shoot dry biomass of the weeds...

Occurrence of Weeds in Areas Submitted to Tillage Managements for Soybean Cultivation in the Cerrado of Roraima Planta Daninha
MENEZES,P.H.S.; ALBUQUERQUE,J.A.A.; SMIDERLE,J.O.; MEDEIROS,R.D.; ALVES,J.M.A.; GIANLUPPI,D..
ABSTRACT: Weeds from soils submitted to different tillage managements were identified in two consecutive years of soybean cultivation in the Cerrado of Roraima. The study was carried out in three areas: native area (NA), mechanically mowed native area (MA), and limed area (LA). A descriptive analysis of the phytosociological parameters relative density (Drr), relative frequency (Frr), relative dominance (Dor), importance value index (IVI), and index of relative importance (IRI) was performed to interpret the results. The weed similarity index (SI) was also calculated in the assessed areas. The highest relative frequencies were observed for Trachypogon plumosus (40.92%), Bulbostylis capillaris (18.52%), and Spermacoce capitata (18.33%) in the native area...
