The role of glyphosate in RR soybean production and seed quality Planta Daninha

This study aimed to evaluate the production components and quality of RR soybean seeds (Roundup Ready®), after application of increasing rates of gliphosate. Field experiments were conducted in Mandaguari, Paraná, during two seasons. Treatments consisted of five doses of glyphosate. All applications were performed once, between development stages V4 and V5. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized block design, with four replicates. Data were subjected to analysis of variance, and when significant, t-tests and a regression analysis were applied to verify the behavior of the treatments. The physiological and sanitary quality, yield and mass of one thousand seeds were evaluated. The results indicated that seed quality can be adversely affected...

Glyphosate e associações em pós-emergência no desempenho agronômico e na qualidade das sementes de soja RR® Planta Daninha

O presente trabalho objetivou avaliar os componentes de produção e a qualidade das sementes de soja RR® em função da aplicação, em pós-emergência, de glyphosate isolado e em mistura em tanque. Os experimentos de campo foram instalados no município de Mandaguari, Paraná, em duas safras. Os tratamentos testados (doses em g i.a. ha-1) foram compostos por glyphosate (960), glyphosate+fluazifop-p-butyl+fomesafen em duas diferentes combinações (960+187,5+187,5 e 960+312,5+312,5), glyphosate+bentazon (960+720), glyphosate+chlorimuron-ethyl (960+25), testemunha sem capina e testemunha capinada. Recent studies indicate that glyphosate applied in post-emergence in RR soybean can eventually cause phytotoxic effects. However, there are many questions that need to be clarified in the scientific and technical contexts, involving the issue of RR soybeans regarding the use of glyphosate. This study has assessed the impact of the application of different doses and formulations of glyphosate in the reproductive period of RR soybean (R1 stage). Germination and Dormancy in Seeds of Sorghum halepense and Sorghum arundinaceum Planta Daninha

Light, temperature and dormancy are factors that influence the germination of seeds and are strictly linked to the emergence of weeds. The objective of this work was to assess the germination of Sorghum arundinaceum and Sorghum halepense subjected to different conditions of temperature and luminosity, as well as assessing seed dormancy breaking mechanisms. For this, two experiments were conducted, both arranged in a completely randomized design. Experiment 1 was installed in a 2 x 5 double factorial design. The first factor was the absence or presence of light for 12 hours, and the other was composed of five constant temperatures: 15, 20, 30, 40 and 45 oC.
