The contribution of imaging in the diagnosis of endotracheal tumors in dogs: case report MV&Z
Zakimi, Renata Fenuchi dos Santos; Silva, Tatiane Marchetti da; Kirchheimer, Vinicius; Alves, Jefferson Douglas Soares; Abreu, Rogério Navarro de.
The trachea is a tubular structure that extends from the body of the axis to the fifth thoracic vertebra, where it then branches in the main bronchi, on the base of the heart. Although rare in dogs and cats, there are reports of intraluminal tracheal mass, either non-neoplastic, benign, or neoplastic malignant masses, which may even cause dynamic obstruction of the trachea. Radiography is a very useful technique for identifying and defining lower respiratory tract disease, including contrasting techniques that delineate the trachea. In this case report, a female dog of the Great Dane breed, two years old, was treated for a chest x-ray, whose main complaint was severe cough. Simple and contrasted radiographs were performed, where it was possible to observe...

Emphysematous cystitis in a dog: case report radiographic MV&Z
da Silva, Debora Prado; do Lago, Elis Roberti Perlato; Alves, Jefferson Douglas Soares.
The urinary bladder infection, having glucose-fermentingmicroorganisms such as pathogens is the disease called asemphysematous cystitis. These microorganism are ableto produce balls of gas in the bladder lumen. The mostfrequent bacteria associated with this pathology are: Proteussp, Aerobacteraerogenous, Escherichia coli and Clostridiumspp. The causes are nonspecific and are usually secondary toseveral conditions as diabetes mellitus, hyperadrenocorticism, anatomical defects, urolithiasis, tumours, prolongedcorticosteroid therapy, bladder wall thickening caused by chronicinflammation, and not ruling out the possibility of reportsin dogs not diabetic. The clinical sings are also nonspecific:dysuria, hematuria, urinary frequency, abdominal pain,apathy....

Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency: a case report MV&Z
Valentim, Karoline Marcondes; Alberto, Maryna Lança Vilia; Lago, Elis Roberti Perlato do; Alves, Jefferson Douglas Soares; Varzim, Fernanda Leme Silva Bastos.
Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI), a common disease indogs, is mainly caused by pancreatic acinar atrophy, followedby chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic duct obstruction, withconsequent inadequate secretion of pancreatic enzymes. The present paper is a case report observed in a male eightyear-old dog that had the diagnosis of EPI suggested by thefecal proteolytic activity test (X-ray film proof). To date, thetreatment given with pancreatic enzyme supplementation andadequate diet has been able to promote the resolution of theclinical condition.

Use of radiographic examinations in the diagnosis of Pulmonary Hypertrophic Osteopathy (OHP): report on three cases in dogs MV&Z
Candeias, Cíntia Zamponi Costa; da Silva, Débora Prado; Camargo, Ricardo Fuso; Alves, Jefferson Douglas Soares.
Pulmonary Hypertrophic Osteopathy (OHP) is a condition characterized by a bone neoformation resulting from periosteal response in long bones and extremities. It is secondary to intrathoracic diseases such as primary or metastatic tumors; pyelo-granulomatous diseases and primary malignancies in the pelvic organs. It may affect several species, and has no racial predisposition or biotype relation, although it’s commonly found in elder animals. The usual clinical signs are: increased temperature and edema in the affected limbs, reluctance to move and limping. However, some signs can be related to the primary disease. The pathophysiology is not yet fully understood, but there are different theories that explain the disease. This paper reports three cases seen...

Sonografhic diagnosis of fetal hidrops intrauterine – case report MV&Z
Da Silva, Tatiane Tatiane Marchetti; Zakimi, Renata Dos Santos; Garcia, Pâmela Diniz; Thomé, Helder Esteves; Lorenço, Maria Lúcia Gomes; Alves, Jefferson Douglas Soares.
The Hydrops fetalis is a disease characterized by abnormal accumulation of extravascular fluid in the tissues or body cavities. In human medicine the diagnosis is usually performed during the prenatal ultrasound examination. This study aims to report the intrauterine diagnosis of fetal hydrops in a fetus of a Poodle dog. In a late prenatal ultrasound the presence of pleural and peritoneal effusion were detected. The ultrasound findings were confirmed in the post-mortem examinations.
