Gómez-Soto, C.E.; Rico, T.; Ardila, N.E.; Sanjuan-Muñoz, A..
Lithophaga nigra (d’Orbigny, 1853) is an uncommon boring bivalve that inhabits dead coral skeletons and occurs in the Caribbean Sea and the Indopacific region. One specimen of this species was collected within a dead head of the coral Montastraea sp. in Playa Blanca, (bahía de Gaira) near Santa Marta at 10 m of depth, and it is recorded for the first time in the Colombian Caribbean.

Cefalópodos (Mollusca: Cephalopoda) del talud superior del Caribe colombiano OceanDocs
García C., A.; Ardila, N.E.; Díaz, J.M..
Seven cephalopod species were identified from material collected during four exploratory cruises carried out in 1998 and 1999 along the upper shelf slope of the Colombian Caribbean at depths between 200 and 500 m. Semirossia tenera, S. equalis, Heteroteuthis dispar, Opisthoteuthis agassizii, Octopus burryi and Benthoctopus oregonae are first recorded for the area. S. tenera was the most common species, representing 75% of the total abundance.

Sobre la sinonimia entre Armina wattla Marcus y Marcus, 1967 y Armina muelleri (Ihering, 1886) (Gastropoda: Nudibranchia: Arminidae) OceanDocs
Báez, D.P.; Ardila, N.E..
Armina wattla Marcus and Marcus, 1967 and Armina abbotti Thompson, Cattaneo and Wong, 1990 were proposed by Ardila and Valdés (2004) to be junior synonyms of Armina muelleri (Ihering, 1886). A detailed anatomical review of these species (radula, reproductive system) and their distribution range revealed that A. wattla is a valid species and A. abbotti is a synonym of the former. Literature references to Armina tigrina Rafinesque, 1814 in the east coast of North America are misidentifications of some specimens of A. wattla.

Notas sobre el quitón Leptochiton binghami (Boone, 1928) (Mollusca: Polyplacophora) en el Caribe colombiano OceanDocs
Gracia-C., A.; Ardila, N.E..
Between 1998 and 2001 the Invemar-Macrofauna cruises collected a series of deep water samples between the GuajiraPeninsula and off the Gulf of Urabá, ranging in depths from 270 to about 520 m. Among the material collected a single chiton speecies Leptochiton binghami was recognized. The new locality record extends the known distributional range of the species to Colombian waters.

Armina juliana (Gastropoda: Nudibranchia: Arminidae), a new species from the Southern Caribbean OceanDocs
Ardila, N.E.; Díaz, J.M..
A new species of the genus Armina, collected off the northern Caribbean coast of Colombia at depths of 310 and 460 m in soft bottoms is described. The number of notal ridges, the position of the genital papilla, the size and the shape of radular teeth and the features of the masticatory process are the main differences to other congeneric species occurring in Atlantic waters. Armina juliana n. sp. is the first record for the family Arminidae in the Colombian Caribbean.

Striocadulud magdalenensis, a new deep-sea scaphopod (Mollusca: Scaphopoda:Gadilidae) from the Colombian Caribbean OceanDocs
Gracia-C., A.; Ardila, N.E..
We describe a new bathyal species of scaphopod beloning to the genus Striocadulus Emerson based on conchological and radular characters. The specimens were collected at a depth of 404-412 m off Bocas de Ceniza (Colombian Caribbean). Striocadulus magdalenensis new species can be distinguised from its other congeners by differences in its apical section, and both number and extent of longitudianl striae. This is the first record of this genus in the Atlantic Ocean.
