A survery of Solea vulgaris biochemical polymorphisms is presented with details of the techniques employed. The electrophoretic patterns of GPI, SOD, PGM, GPD, MDH, AAT, ES, GLO, XDH, MOD, IDH and major protein components of the skeletal muscle are described as corresponding to the products of 27 genes, 13 of which were found to be highly polymorphic. The bases and limits of the "locus per locus" interpretation of biochemical polymorphisms for which the mode of inheritance is not available yet are discussed. |

The current state of affairs of marine fisheries is not the same everywhere along the coasts of our country. Written documents usually deal with the oceanic ports and fisheries which are the most industrialized, the artisanal fisherman from the South of France often being left aside by most authors. But lagoon fishermen are still in the shadows. Apart from a few geographers, very few scientists have shown any interest in them and their fishery since Gourret in 1897. Today is the dawn of a new era for French lagoon exploitation; a slow transformation which takes... |
