| Esta pesquisa foi desenvolvida em duas instalações para suínos nas fases de creche e terminação, em duas salas cada, em granjas localizadas no município de Salto, SP, com os objetivos de avaliar a concentração de amônia e poeira e a presença de fungos, além de estimar os riscos de exposição ocupacional a esses agentes ambientais. As avaliações foram realizadas conforme preceituam as normas NR-15, NIOSH e ACGIH. Os resultados indicaram diferença significativa nas concentrações de amônia em relação aos horários, às instalações e aos períodos do dia. | Several tests are available for detecting mutagenic and recombinogenic products in fungi. Since fungi are eukaryotic, these tests permit the detection of substances that produce chromosomal aberrations, or that are recombinogenic. We have developed a new method for testing substances that affect fungal stability using a duplication strain of Aspergillus nidulans and circular statistics for data analysis. The fungus was inoculated on the center of Petri dishes and the substance to be tested was applied to a defined area of the dish. Position of resulting sectors was measured by an angle and the data were analyzed by the Rayleigh test. | Locomotion deficiencies in broiler production cause poor welfare and lead to change in drinking and feeding behavior with consequent loss in weight gain. This research aimed to assess locomotion deficiencies in broiler chicken by analyzing the vertical peak force on both feet during walk. A chamber was built with an inlet ramp, a horizontal walkway in the middle and an outlet ramp. In the walkway a thin mat with piezoelectric crystal sensors was placed to record the step vertical peak force of the feet while walking on the force platform.
