La búsqueda de alternativas terapéuticas para el tratamiento del cáncer de mama se ha extendido a distintas combinaciones de drogas, entre ellas, análogos de adenosina-3',5'-monofosfato cíclico (AMPc). De la amplia variedad existente, el 8-cloro-adenosina-3',5'-monofosfato cíclico (8-Cl-AMPc) es el más empleado, hallándose en fase de estudios clínicos. En este trabajo se analiza a nivel experimental, el efecto del compuesto, solo o combinado con otros agentes, sobre útero de ratón. Para ello, se administró a ratones Balb/c: 8-Cl-AMPc, tamoxifeno (Tam), y acetato de medroxiprogesterona (MPA), solos o combinados. Se halló que el peso del útero disminuyó por efecto del tratamiento con el 8-Cl-AMPc, sin modificación histológica importante de la mucosa uterina... |

Apoptosis or programmed cell death (PCD) is a physiological process characteristic of pluricellular organisms leading to self-destruction of the cell. It is therefore involved in development, homeostasis and host defense. However, a significant difference has been shown between mammalian cell apoptosis and non-mammalian cell apoptosis: mitochondria are implicated only in the former. Execution of PCD includes the release of several proapoptotic proteins from the intermembrane space of mitochondria. They could exert their actions through a caspase dependent as well as a caspase independent way.
