| This study aimed to systematize the information on forestry canafistula (Peltophorum dubium (Sprengel) Taubert), one of the most important timber species native to Brazil. The canafistula is found from Bahia to Rio Grande do Sul, has widespread use and acceptance of its products and by-products, depending on the wood quality, moderately heavy, hard, durable, high commercial value and potential in the Brazilian timber market.
