The environmental effects of various 'quality' and 'eco-labeling' programs in the Midi-Pyrenees region of the south of France are analyzed, using factor analysis, analysis of variance, and qualitative analysis. This article compares farm-level organic prices to both South Dakota and national cash prices for the products of conventionally grown corn, soybeans, spring wheat and oats. Data indicate that the ratios of organic prices to conventional prices for corn, spring wheat, and oats decline during the past year, but not soybeans.
