| The vine is a culture in expansion in Brazil and Rio Grande do Sul State comprises the largest area planted with the crop. The vine is subject to attacks by numerous pathogens and pests, and plant protection treatments up to 30% of the production cost. Several studies are performed with the purpose to find alternative control, but the main method used is still the chemical control.
