SABIIA - Sistema Aberto e Integrado de Informação em Agricultura (Sabiia)

Van Dr. A. C. Oudemans ontving het Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historic in 1942 ten geschenke de door hem in den loop der jaren bijeen gebrachte belangrijke verzameling van Acari. Deze verzameling omvat 5981 praeparaten van mijten, behoorende tot 1316 soorten. Verder legateerde Dr. Oudemans aan het museum zijn verzameling van afbeeldingen van dieren van deze groep, welke na zijn overlijden op 14 Januari 1943 werden ontvangen. In the former Zuiderzee, the large brackish inland sea of the Netherlands, a species of crab was commonly met with, which species generally was considered to be endemic in the Dutch inland waters, and was named by most authors Heteropanope tridentata (Maitland). Examination of material and literature convinced us that the crab does not belong to the genus Heteropanope at all, but is a Rithropanopeus, while it is so closely related to the American Rithropanopeus harrisii (Gould), that we only can consider it to be a subspecies of that species. From his stay at Port Dickson on the Malay Peninsula at the beginning of 1946 Major Dr. L. D. Brongersma of the N I C A Detachment brought home several species of crabs. A list of this material which is now incorporated in the collections of the Museum of Natural History at Leiden is given below, while on some of the more interesting species some remarks are made. In 1939 during a visit to the British Museum, London, the first author (Leene) examined a number of indo-westpacific Portunidae belonging to the collection of this Museum. Part of the material was then reserved to be studied more extensively in Holland. Through the outbreak of World War II it was not before 1947 that this material came to Holland; it then was taken from London to Leiden by the second author (Buitendijk). The material was studied jointly by the two authors, who intended to publish the results of this study as a single paper. Sinds het verschijnen van de Naamlijst van Nederlandsche Collembola (Zool. Meded., deel 13, afl. 1—2) werden een viertal voor ons land nieuwe springstaarten gevonden. Van deze soorten volgt hier een korte beschrijving. Orchesella quinquefasciata Bourl. Bij de als Orchesella villosa Geoffr. gedetermineerde springstaarten bleken exemplaren van deze soort te zijn. Deze determinatie werd gecontroleerd door Dr. C. Borner, dien ik hier, ook voor zijn verdere medewerking, nogmaals hartelijk dankzeg. Aan het slot van zijn dissertatie geeft J. TH. OUDEMANS in 1886 een lijst van Nederlandsche Thysanura en Collembola; deze lijst wordt door denzelfden schrijver in het hoofdstuk Collembola in „De Nederlandsche Insecta" (1900) met eenige soorten aangevuld. Verder vinden we, voor zoover mij bekend, in de literatuur nergens opgaven over onze inlandsche vormen. Daar de naamlijst van OUDEMANS echter verouderd is, is er reden een aanvulling te geven.
