| The coastline extended between Manzanillo city and the mouth of Cauto River is a widely man-modified region by the urban-industrial-fishing activities. The present study in shows the results obtained in this zone on summer 2002, May and November 2007 and November 2008. Conditions of sediments and tenors was analyzes, starting from the effects of insecticide and other contaminant compounds, either of organic or inorganic nature, and also exposes the decreasing tendency in the production of species of economic interest, like the blank shrimp (Litopenaeus schmitti), pink shrimp (Farfantepenaeus notialis) and oyster (Cras sostrea rhizophorae). | Many organic and in organic contaminants originated from human activities are deposited and concentrated in aquatic sediments. The purpose of this review article is to analyze and discuss, the objectives, procedures and applications of bioassays on the triad of marine sediments, aiming at a reflection on the possibility of implementing regulations on the environmental monitoring of these studies in our country, so as to improve the environmental quality and its management on coastal zones.
