| A new process of collecting fIat oyster spat in deep water, based on the use of suspended mussel shell, was perfected between 1978 and 1982. The technique has contributed the continued breeding of the species in Quiberon bay (Brittany ) , in spite of the presence of Bonamia ostreae. In order to quantify the number of spat recruited by this technique each year, a method of estimation was tested during the summer 1985. This paper describes the sampling strategy and the results. |
