Third Head of Biceps Brachii Muscle, Associated with Musculocutaneous and Median Nerve Bilateral Communication and with a Communicating Branch Between Median Nerve Roots International Journal of Morphology
Cerda,Aladino.
Both biceps brachii muscle anatomical variations and the presence of communicating branches between the musculocutaneous nerve and the median nerve are common, and have clinical significance due to their connections and vulnerability. A case found during a routine dissection of the upper limb of a male cadaver is described, in which unilateral presence of a third head of the biceps brachii muscle coexists associated to a bilateral communication of the musculocutaneous nerve with the median nerve, and a unilateral communicating branch between the roots of median nerve. The morphological features and the prevalence of the case are presented, besides the discussion of its clinical significance.

Bilateral Absence of Gemelli Muscles: Case Report International Journal of Morphology
Cerda,Aladino; López,Bernarda.
The gemelli are deep muscles, which act together with the obturator internus muscle, stabilizing dynamically the hip joint. In the present article, a case of bilateral absence of both gemelli muscles in the pelvis of a female cadaver is described. A possible embryological explanation of this condition is discussed, besides its clinical and surgical importance.
Tipo: Journal article Palavras-chave: Superior gemellus muscle; Inferior gemellus muscle; Anatomical variations.

Morphology and Morphometry of the Tendons of the Palmaris Longus and Radial Carpal Extensor Muscles in Humans International Journal of Morphology
Cerda,Aladino; del Sol,Mariano.
The tendons of the palmaris longus (PL) and radial carpal extensor (RCE) muscles have extensive applications in surgery, yet despite their constant use, information about their morphological and morphometric characteristics remains limited. The aim of this study was to describe the morphological and morphometric characteristics of the PL and RCE muscle tendons and compare them to each other in 30 upper limbs of adult individuals with no apparent deformations from anatomy units at four universities in Chile. The anterior side and lateral margin of the forearm and the back of the hand as far as the tendon plane were dissected. The average length, width at origin level and at the level of the radiocarpal joint line of the PL muscle tendon were 125.48 mm ±...

Anatomical Snuffbox and it Clinical Significance: A Literature Review International Journal of Morphology
Cerda,Aladino; del Sol,Mariano.
The anatomical snuffbox is a small triangular area situated in the radial part of the wrist, often used to perform clinical and surgical procedures. Despite the frequency with which this area is used, there is scarce information in literature about its details. The objective of this study is detailed knowledge of the anatomical snuffbox's anatomy and its components, the reported alterations at this portion, besides the clinical uses and significance of this area.

Symmetric Bilateral Aberrant Obturator Artery: A Case Report International Journal of Morphology
Cerda,Aladino.
Aberrant obturator artery (AOA) is an anatomical variation in the origin and course of the obturator artery, which is clinically important because of their vulnerability during surgical procedures performed in the pelvis. This article describes the case of a symmetrical AOA found in both hemipelvises of a male cadaver. Morphological and morphometric characteristics are presented, while their clinical significance is discussed.
