The identification of genus and species is made by systematic, by noticing morphological and anatomical characteres which were the phenotype expression. However, changes in one or more gene bases can result in phenotypes similarities between different species, inducing an identification error. Alternatively, molecular appliances based in mithocondrial and ribosomal genes appeared. This study aims to compile information about the molecular identification and present the South American Catfish (Rhamdia quelen) case, for which there is controversy generated by taxonomy identification. The different genes used to identification have their particularities, like insertions and deletions on the case of 16S rRNA and the 18S rRNA. Besides these ribosomal genes,... |
