| Two initial methods are used to define benthic annelid taxocoenoses within the Morbihan gulf. 139 samples and 83 species are included in the matrix data. Correspondence analysis is shown to be appropriate in the classification of heterogeneous systems. It isolates Mesopsio moorei sand population from winole other samples. General analysis is better appropriate within homogeneous systems, and is able to study populations with regard to production. Results are comparable with those got fromthe whole fauna. | The present work is an ecological study about Peracarid Crustaceans living on rocky bottom in infra and circalittoral zone. A sampling method for hard bottom is presented in the first part. A biocenotic study permits, in a second part, to describe the distribution of the populations. Affinity index values, computed by Bravais-Pearson correlation coefficient, show three faunal associations assigned to the upper-infralittoral, deep-infralittoral and circalittoral zone. | La présente étude écologique du site de GRAVELINES liée au projet d'implantation d'une centrale nucléaire a été confiée par Électricité de France, Région Équipement Paris au Centre National pour l'Exploitation des Océans (CNEXO). L'installation des centrales nucléaires sur le littoral, est susceptible d'entraîner des modifications au niveau des différents écosystèmes atteints par les rejets du circuit de refroidissement. Dans le but d'évaluer de telles modifications, des études écologiques ont été entreprises sur les sites des futures centrales. |

| Genus Janirella Bonnier, 1885, has numerous members in the North Atlantic Ocean (J. nanseni Bonnier, 1885; J. abyssicola Richardson, 1911; J. glabra Richardson, 1911; J. spongicola Hansen, 1916; J. lobata Richardson, 1908; J. laevis Hansen, 1916; J. vemae Menzies, 1962; J. priseri Chardy, 1972) as well as in the adjoining seas (J. bonnieri Stephensen, 1915 in the Mediterranean Sea and J. carribica Menzies, 1956 in the Caribbean Sea). | The various so-called inertia methods, the aim of which is to summarize the relationships between points by a configuration of reduced dimension, may all be considered variants of a more general method. In this regard, the links existing between Principal Component Analysis, Principal Coordinates Analysis and the Analysis of Correspondences appear clearly. | A steady-state energy flow model is proposed for the benthic fine sand community of the Bay of Saint-Brieuc. The main objective is to assess the relative importance of benthic processes associated with the carbon cycle in an eutrophicated bay. | Eurytemora affinis egg mass size-a commonly used demographic parameter-was surveyed in the Gironde estuary. Its decrease between 1978 and 2003 contrasted with the stability of population density during this long-term period. Different hypotheses were tested to explain this paradox.
