| Les études écologiques sur le site d'une future centrale nucléaire se divisent en plusieurs parties : - étude d'avant-projet : étude rapide permettant d'évaluer les caractéristiques écologiques générales et la richesse du site. Sur le site de Gravelines, cette étude a été effectuée de Juillet à Décembre 1973, - étude de projet : destinée à établir un bilan écologique avant la mise en service des installations cette étude porte sur deux cycles annuels, - étude de Surveillance : s'étendant sur plusieurs années; cette étude permet, d'une part, d'apprécier les variations pluriannuelles des écosystèmes d'autre part, de rechercher les effets des rejets d'eau réchauffée sur ces écosystèmes. |

| Systematic of the Haploniscidae family is cleared by two approaches : phenetic relationships between species through a multiple criteria analysis and phylogenetic attempt based on a few number of characters of which the evolutive meaning is discussed. Choice and coding of characters, taxonomic distance and mathematical methods are commented. Phenetic classification is expressed by two complementary techniques : ordination (Analysis of Correspondences, CORDIER, 1966) and hierarchy (cluster analysis of Roux, 1968). On admet généralement qu'en raison de la structure homothermique des eaux profondes méditerranéennes, la plaine abyssale est peuplée par des espèces bathyales eurybathiques sténothermes chaudes, Mais, comme le souligne PÉRÈS [1967, p. 467] l'extrême pauvreté des grandes profondeurs méditerranéennes et le nombre très limité de prélèvements faits à ce jour ne permettent guère de donner une réponse satisfaisante à cette question. | La présente étude écologique du site de GRAVELINES liée au projet d'implantation d'une centrale nucléaire a été confiée par Électricité de France, Région Équipement Paris au Centre National pour l'Exploitation des Océans (CNEXO). L'installation des centrales nucléaires sur le littoral, est susceptible d'entraîner des modifications au niveau des différents écosystèmes atteints par les rejets du circuit de refroidissement. Dans le but d'évaluer de telles modifications, des études écologiques ont été entreprises sur les sites des futures centrales. |

| Qualitative and quantitative studies were carried out at three localities at different times of the year, from 1970 to 1974.Multivariate analysis, using inertia techniques, elucidated the major features of the principal sources of variation in time and space. | Eurytemora affinis egg mass size-a commonly used demographic parameter-was surveyed in the Gironde estuary. Its decrease between 1978 and 2003 contrasted with the stability of population density during this long-term period. Different hypotheses were tested to explain this paradox. | Two new species of Asellota Isopoda of the mediterranean deep-sea fauna are described in this article : Pseudomesus bispinosus sp. n. collected from the western mediterranean abyssal plain, and llyarachna medorientalis sp. n. collected from the Matapan trench and the Aegean sea. The genus Pseudomesus is new for the Mediterranean. The great vertical distribution of I. medorientalis sp. n. is in accord with the eurybathic nature of mediterranean benthic deep-sea species. | Genus Storthyngura Vanhöffen, 1914, largely represented throughout the world's oceans, is comprised of 5 species in the North Atlantic Ocean: S. atlantica Beddard, 1885; S. truncata Richardson, 1908; S. mignispinis Richardson, 1908; S. vemae Menzies, 1962 and S. shanoi Menzies, 1962. During the Noratlante cruise of the R.S. "Jean Charcot" (August - September 1969) we collected a new species belonging to this genus, whose description is the focus of this work. |

The main objective is to assess the relative importance of benthic processes associated with the carbon cycle in an eutrophicated bay. Available data include biomass estimates of the major trophic groups and measurements of the most critical fluxes : particulate organic carbon sedimentation, community respiration, microbial production.
